Growth Investment Portfolio: The 1966 Maton DC545 Slenderline check this link out people...i have bought this guitar from a south kolkata shop...where someone sold it for 8 k only every single thing is stock except just the bridge pickup which is a dimarzio super distortion and the tuners which are gotoh.. here's the catch....only 782 of these were ever made between 1964 and 1967..and the serial number of the first one was 101...mine is 882 so guess what that makes it ? the guitar plays like a dream...never played an archtop before...and this is a real beauty...the tone is just so rich even unplugged..much more than a simple chambered body..i'm gonna post a youtube video of this guitar pretty soon got the guitar at the price of a lifetime couldn't wait to share this with you guys
thanx man...can't believe my luck on being actually able to play a nearly 50 year old rare vintage guitar...and the icing on the top of the cake is that it's a fantastic player this guitar....and the cherry on the icing on the top of the cake is that it's MINE man i'm elated
Damn i hadnt first checked the link in your first post!! There it is written that this guitar is valued at $3000!! Maybe you could auction it on ebay or something and buy a nice guitar and tube amp for that money!! Congrats on finding it that too for 8000!!
What idiot puts a dimarzio super distortion on a beauty like that?? And agree with ayu135... Unless you wanna keep it as a trophy, auctioning it could fetch you lacs! But before you do so, replace the Dimarzio with a Duncan antiquity...
music cafe at rabindra sarobar man...i don't want to sell this guitar unless i am in a dire need to it just feels so amazing to be holding an instrument that has seen so much.. I am a bit too fortunate @ayu and tirtha this is the very last guitar of the dc 545 series that was handbuilt in the maton workshop at victoria...this is number 782 i guess that makes it a bit more special
