I am selling my Ibanez JS-1000 replica (made by Tulsi guitars, Chennai) for Rs. 9000 (no bargaining please, this is a good price and I wan't to get a new guitar soon). I got it made in 2006 (for Rs 15,000) but my playing style has changed since then and now I want a guitar with a fixed bridge. The guitar plays great. Setup is perfect. There is a small scratch on the neck behind 12th fret (stupid airlines staff!) but it has never been an issue for playability and anyway you can get it polished again. If you have concerns about it being a replica and not a branded one, rest assured. Tulsi is a famous name in south India and many bands get their gear from him. I had actually met Christie of Moksha fame when I went to give my order. All the components (knobs, bridge, tuning knobs, pickups) are imported, only the wood processing is done here in India so that it can tolerate the extreme Indian climate better. The bridge is an original floyd rose bridge. Pickups are of chinese "Xty" brand. I also have a somewhat-damaged-but-still-usable hard flight-case which I can include for Rs. 500. I'll also try to upload some audio samples (with and without distortion). Anyone interested?
Where is the guitar currently located? What are the neck specs? Is it same as the JS-1000 or more like Ibanez Wizard? I guess JS necks have 22 frets but yours seems to have 24... Also, could you specify the body, neck and fretboard woods?
Nice guitar!!! Why dont you upload a video just to get an idea of tone. This wIll help in selling your guitar...
Doesnt matter really. Just play a nice solo. Most of the guitar buyers in that range are looking out for a guitar that plays well. If you play something impressive then thats enuf i guess...
But that's wrong. Even if I hold American Fender strat - I am not gonna sound like Dave Gilmour. Then the buyers won't be interested in the American Fender strat because I wasn't able to showcase it properly.
I promise to upload something this weekend. Will put up a video recorded with my mobile and perhaps an audio recorded digitally with my RC-300 looper. Can't guarantee about the latter to work as I'm on linux and have never tried accessing the looper through USB.
For those who are impatient, here are a couple of videos from 2008 with me playing "Coming back to life" on this guitar. Yes, I used to play like crap and the recording is even worse (taken with stupid mobile cams I think). As I said, only for the impatient https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MSMefW-vBk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og3w2ia2Xz8
Exactly.....I meant good playing with proper technique...irrespective of the guitar you are playing on..THat matters more than what guitar brand you are using..... - GUitar player playing solos with improper technique and bad tone but on an AMerican Fender Strat - GUitar player playing solos with Proper technique and excellent tone but on an Squier Fender - MOst on them would be attracted to This more than American one... Its not the guitar but your playing skills that matter the most while selling an instrument...Its how good you make that instrument sound..that matters (THe above holds true only for those guitar players who are still trying to figure out what they want..Some where between Beginners and Intermediate level)..OFcourse a professional player would choose for himself...
