About Strumming Pattern

    Okay GUys..First of all, Thanx for visiting my thread..

    Im playing guitar for about few months... and now I am Able to Play all chords.... so now i dont have probs with chord..

    Then I try to play some songs... I face this Big Prob... I cannot Figure what strumming pattern should i use for certain songs....I can read the chords and change them.. but.. i donno what strumming pattern to use..... How can i overcome this and what strumming patterns are usually used in songs...

    This will come only by practice over long time. Strumming pattern has to go in line with BGM. So listening to the music and trying varying pattern is necessary. It is difficult to sing, strum and change chord simultaneously - definitely at the beginning stage - It needs syncronization of all the three things. That is the reason I say that it will come easily with practice over long time. Just keep playing you will get it....... Sathya

    structured strumming would do; (D DDU), (DDU UDU), (DD DUDU) can fit almost all 4/4 time songs,

    (D DUDU) for 3/4 songs, listen to 'mayile mayile un thogai enge' intro for some interesting strum pattern

    'Pudhiya poovidhu poothadhu' intro is really cool, needhane endhan pon vasandham strum is like (DDD DDDU)

    D DDU fits 4/4 ballads

    after few months; incorporating staccato playing will just be just beautiful with Barres

    Yeah those strums sounds really cool...gonna try with it some songs... ;)
