I don't knOw if this makes any sense, but it sounds a bit "loose" for a muff. What kind of muff sound are you going for? Also would help to know what volume the amp, guitar and pedal were set to? What was the gain/distortion on the pedal was set to.

They are supposed to be dirty and loose due to scooped up mids.... Its a vintage fuzz machine basically...

@aryasridhar to be very honest, the demo sounds more closer to a proco rat rather than a big muff... Great job though.. The tone boost does wonders...

I agree, it kind of sounds like the RAT, It is really a uncontrolled Muff......but I personally love the Tone Bypass, that gives a lot of Mid boost to the pedal, it sounds pretty nice......

This circuit is based on the early muffs, and then the low end tighter tone stack was not developed, the request i had was to ensure that it sounds and feels like the original muff/close to it, hence a loose bottom end :)

    Will check this from home.
But from whatever little I heard at low volumes (mainly the first half) - this sound much better for only leads.
For playing chords - I think the tone just mushes up.

But then that's what all FUZZ pedals do - so you have indeed come close!

FUZZ pedals? Seriously? Are you tone deaf?

I think he was trying show his utter disbelief over my statement that Fuzz pedals mushes/muddies up the tone for playing chords.

I meant that this didn't even sound close to a fuzz pedal.... It sounds a lot more distinct and clearer than one....

alpha1, if you haven't please check out the demos of proco rat and the pi muff of youtube.... They are made to sound middy and therefore have that vintage rock n' roll/hard rock sound, kinda like the CCR, Hendrix, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc.... The demo of aryasridhar's pedal sounds pretty close to that kinda tone.... Fuzz pedals sound different as far as I know...

Well in my defense, I did make it clear that I heard the sample at super low volume thru crap speakers.
So I couldn't make out if there were some outstanding mids or not.

All I could hear are the freq that the ears are most sensitive to = 2 to 5 kHz

Well, this has a tone bypass switch, which was bypassed in the clip, i personally liked the tone with the tone bypassed.....with mid frequencies bumped up, With the Tone engaged, it was ok, atleast not to my likings......But then it is not made for me, i made it on order for someone.........So if the customer likes it, I can make it :D
