Hi guys ! and Gals(if any here) !

Being an IR fan, I just want to know what people feel about the songs of Neethaaney En Pon Vasantham... NEPV !!??

Are they really good ? u ppl are satisfied ??? or

its simple... !! could have been much better.. ???

but please dont compare him with other musicians who has worked with GVM like HJ & ARR

Becos every1 has their style... IR will not give music like HJ, HJ dont use instruments like ARR and ARR dint give great melodies like IR... so just think about the past of IR alone and right the feedback please...

    What you say is correct.

Out of Eight, Four songs are awesome (Ennodu vaa vaa, Saaindhu Saaindhu, Vaanam Mella & Kaatrai Konjam) where you will feel the enjoyment in the first attempt of listening. Other songs need to be listened more than once.

Perfect example of a strong comeback by Maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja and a new combo in style for Gautham Menon...

My favorites in the below order

    1. Vaanam Mella (Raaja had me with the intro Bagpiper melody)
    2. Saayndhu (Yuvan's laziness is key to the songs sweetness)
    3. Ennodo Vaa Vaa (Chart Buster for sure)
    4. Mudhal Murai (Sunidhi's spirit in singing the Chorus)
    5. Kaatrai Konjam (Classic Raaja)
    6. Pu***ala Maamu
    7. Pengal Yendral
    8. Sattru Munbu

I personally think it is a great album. Didn't particularly enjoy YSR's voice though.
    My order of preference is

    1. Kaatrai Konjam - great chords and 7/8 time signature.
    2. Mudhal Murai - full of diminished chords, nice chorus.
    3. Satru Munbu - haunting
    4. Ennodu - typical IR, very catchy
    5. Saindhu - nice interludes
    6. Vaanam Mella
    7. Pu***kala mamu
    8. Pengal endral

    Rajesh :music:

    Four songs,
    1. Vaanam mella 2. Ennodu vaa vaa 3. Kaatrai konjam and 4. Saaindhu are belongs to his 80s fans.
Other four songs 1. Satru munbu 2. Mudhal murai 3. Pudilkala maamu and 4. Pengal endral are for new generation.

    Two negative things:
    1. Yuvan's singing of Saindhu Saindhu pallavi. Telugu version is so good.
    2. Lyrics sucks for couple of song with outdated words.

For the People are raving about Raja's comeback, they all should remind about the past. Everyone of us had same feeling when the albums like Heyram, Time, Kadhal Kavidhai and Virumaandi, but everything sink without a trace.

It's not only about the success of the movie, because nothing happened even after the musical blockbuster Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. Raja himself don't have any plan to come back as he don't have another projects with promising directors/actors.

I feel NEPV will be a 1942 love story so as to R.D.Burman.

    Anyway big Thanks to Gautham.

    Guitarsen,

Partially I agree with your footer notes... apart from the movies did well or not, the music really reached the hearts of the people... like the 'kadhal neethaana' 'nee paartha..'... but Virumandi was a sure hit... that actually brought back him... to the lights.. especially the new generation knew the legend is not exhausted.. with a single song of "unna vida" and I personally liked the folk open song 'kombula..." just like the 'podhuvaaga en manasu thangam.."

yes.. really.. the failures of his fav directors like Balumahendra, Fazil after the 2000 was a major setback for the Maestro... as they were the few left people with IR to ask for a better composition... and for Raja's caliber I cant go for a director hunt or force them... at the same time many new comers used him just like a senior guru... whatever he gave has to be accepted... I really felt very much depressed why he did movies like Azhagar Malai, Ajantha, Madhu, Uliyin osai etc...

lets hope NEPV ends those days... and the upcoming years belong to the legend so that we can get some more melodies like the old times.. with which we lived music.. I would say lived becos, now a days only love failure is the sad part in music... nothing else... but he did show versatility like love failure, post mature probs, pre love proposal feelings, mother and sis centiment, social depression...

I am talking too much again...

K.. lets get back the GOLDEN ERA back... lets give him some more time to resettling... after all he has made us delighted with his music for 25+ years...

I Strongly agree with you Pearl... Also you can add Dhoni, Nandalala, ....., in your depressed list. We hope the Golden Era will be back as you said....

Many directors out there and willing to work with him atleast one movie with him. If that happens and if IR able to delver atleast a movie every two months with the same quality of NEPV is good enough. Do u guys think is it going to happen? In the interview with gautham, IR himself admits there is a discomfort for directos when working with him and he prefers delegating to Yuvan.

I don't care whether IR movies run now or goes to Home video; I care only for his songs, it is my freedom to enjoy Raaja's music, I am blessed to live in a generation to witness his music, i am happy with NEP songs and i have thousands of his old song which i am not done with exploring, i feel so happy when i watched his concerts and I am happy for others who enjoy Raaja's music

I just watched the 5 hour program on Jaya TV - the NEPV audio launch. It is great to compose music without his usual orchestra. The songs and music are too good. The song 'Ennodu' really stands on the top of all - in terms of reach / popularity.

couple of Dhoni songs were good... 'velayatta' 'thaavi taavi" are ok for me... and Nandhalaalaa is amazing for me... the only prob was its failure is MYSKIN who dint picturize it in movies.... 'mella mella' 'oru vandu koottame' were melodious....

the show was really amazing one... but a lot of editing has been carried out.. and Jaya tv suks.. they didnt know how to earn with a great show like that... VIJAY TV would have been the best for these type of functions....

for me 'vanam mella' was the amazing one... with Bela's voice... superb...
'mudhal murai' was a powerful one...
'ennodu vaaa...' another amazing one... by karthick..
    'saindhu saindhu' good...
'bucketu...bucketu... song is also good.. especially the guitar opening too good...
