please take a look at the attached image

    Guitar Specs :-

    Body - Mahogany
    Neck - Maple
    Fretboard - Rosewood
    Frets - 22
Bridge Pickup - Dimarzio Mo Joe
Neck Pickup - Dimarzio Paf Pro
    Volume Pots - 500K
    3 Way Toggle Switch
    Body shape - Towards Telecaster
    Body curves - Like Stratocaster
Neck - Similar to Fender Strat
Headstock - Somewhat similar to Gibson style
Fixed Korean make Bridge and Tuners

Pros :- Plays extremely well, Great sustain, playability and tone. Sounds and feels better than my Fender strat for sure..

Cons - Mahogany wood has added a lot of weight. The Weight is 4Kgs whereas my Fender Strat is 3.25kgs.

    Future modifications :-
    1) Pickup rings
    2) Change the Black acralyic sheet and build a new pickguard
    3) Make the pickup cavities bigger and deeper to reduce some weight
    4) Sand the guitar from backside to reduce some weight.

Will sanding reduce 1cm overall ???
Is it difficult to sand soo much??
Or do i need to use the tool that carpenter uses to reduce the width a bit?

I didnt work on it. I got it done from local carpenters here. Just started with it as a fun project but saw really good potential in those workers. But man wasnt easy to follow up with those guys. Neck is built by my friend.

All parts including wood were provided by me. Now probably re-wiring(coz cavities will be made bigger so already de soldered everything), sanding, pickguard and painting will be done by me. But now flying abroad this weekend. So rest of the work will be done after i come back (hopefully with a NEW guitar ;) again )

God This looks great.......Good job man..... :) Hey can you help me get a good block of Mahagony? I need it for making the head cabinet for the amp i am building???

Why you wasting money on wood for a cabinet... It's not worth it...

I wouldn't spend on it if it costs a ton for sure :), If it comes for a reasonable price, i wanted to not do a tolex and just finish the wood....I have no plans to sell the amp i am building......so that's another reason I am thinking of different ways to make it look good

    Total Labor+Wood - 14K
    Pickups - 11.5K
    Other Parts - 5K
    Around 30k.
If i include travel and other expenses it would be around 32K on the higher side.

I am seriously thinkin of chambering this guitar..Its heavy..4kgs is a lot. Infact pickups are adding around less then half kgs..Damn heavy pickups.
Overall pretty happy with the outcome. I still have wood left at my place for 1 guitar and 2 necks.. Will be doing one more guitar out of it.

I sold my Ibanez and got this one. Soo absolutely no extra money spent on it..

Looks great... Any plans on binding the fretboard? It'd look great!

BTW, how will you add a pickguard? The black plate covering the volume and the tone pots should come it its way...

My priority right now is getting the deeper Cavities for the pickups and the Volume controls. Yeah sooner or later fretboard bindin would happen...

The black plate kinda looks cheap. I will be replacing it with a one piece Pickgaurd or may be 2 piece...Wont be an easy task to cover the cavity and align the pickguard on the curved edges. But got to think of some shape for the pickguard.

Any ideas of Custom Pickup Mounting rings and pickguard shapes are most welcomed!!!

Ooh, but what if it ruins the sustain, harmonics, tone, feel, vibrations, the distance between earth and moon and sun, the tides, the seasons ...

Lol...Chill :)...Dropped the idea completely about chambering...looked around on the net and found that early Gibsons were heavier than my guitar...around 10 - 12pounds....
But thinkin of getting decent Pickup rings and pickguard. Travelling to Europe this weekend..So hopefully i shud get some stuff for cheap...Also planning to buy any European make guitar since it will be cheap there...But dont know which..Fenders and Gibsons are costlier than US..as expected...Lets see which one i get from there

Guitars in Europe are gonna be as expensive as in India i think...
