Hey, I was wondering if anyone here had one of those toneprint pedals that TCE had come out with last year I think. They have an iPhone/iPad (?) app that sends a toneprint by an audio signal through your pickups & it gets stored in the pedal. In other words there isn't a need to connect using the USB to the PC/Mac, instead you can just beam it through your guitar pickup. I guess the important question is if anyone has an iPhone/iPad along with one of those pedals & has tried to see if it works well.
I have a TC Hall of Fame but i have not used it connecting to iPad/iPhone (i don't have either but i wonder if it makes sense to transfer a tone print without a physical connection ..
It would have been great if they released the Toneprint editor to the public. I can see the beaming feature being handy in a live setting where say you aren't able to carry a notebook/laptop along, so one just beams a toneprint from their cell phone without much effort. Not much useful in mid song though unless the cellphone is attached close to the body of the guitar & set in offline mode.
I mean i dint quite understand how will it transfer without a physical(USB) connection to the pedal? If you're saying through the guitar pickup then will it not alter the overall tone?
Not sure if it alters the tone, have you tried checking out the toneprints for the HoF reverb? TC Electronic | Hall of Fame Reverb The beaming part is simple, lookie here TC Electronic - This Is the TonePrint App! - YouTube It's available for Android phones too I think
