So, can you please advise me a good guitar within 8-10k range.. I wanted to buy , epiphone LP special II , but it is nowhere available in delhi, other than furtados , who are selling it @ 15k. so, please help me..I've read many threads like these, but didnt find any solutions..so, please do comment..

Plenty of used guitars floating in the market.
    Other options:
    1. Greg Bennett AV1,AV3, Torino
    2. Yamaha Pacifica 012/112

Check "AM used musical Instruments" on facebook. Lot of people are selling their used stuff there. U might get a good deal.
As @rickkkyrich said Yamaha pacifica is the one u should look out for!!!

Get a good pre-owned guitar. Seconds market is quite good in India. Look for a AV1 in the range on the FB page or a Cort.

If you are willing to buy a used guitar, there are plenty of options available... However, you aren't gonna get many decent imports at the way things are going now...
I suggest you wait for a couple of months for the ruppee dollar rate to go down (It probably should) otherwise everything you are gonna buy now are probably elevated by 20-30% of their original prices unless they are of Indian make or old stock... You can search the shops around you to look for them...

If you wait, you will probably be getting a brand new Avion AV1, BC Rich Warlock or Pacifica within the 10k mark if at all the Rupee should drop... Otherwise you can go for the Squier Bullet Strat or the Peavy Raptor (not really great guitars but should do well for a first guitar)...

One option I'd really suggest you, which I think will be the best for you, trust me on this, is to go for Indian made guitars, which are anyday better than the Squiers, Ibanez Gios, JAVAs, Jackson JSs and lower end corts... They are made of a much better wood and are much better than the China made stuff...

Givson/Grason GS Lead 2, GS 1000, Hertz and True Tone... These few guitars fall in your budget and are more than their money's worth... Buying local made guitars as your first is way underrated and I don't know why... I would have done the same if I had a budget as small as yours..

ohk...thanks all for ur reply..Btw, how is Fender Squier California Series Stratocaster ?? .. good enough?? ,, Does any one know, what is a reasonable price for Epiphone LP special 2 .. And a good amp for a reasonable price!! ... :pp

Forget about california and affinity series... Both are of a crappy make and have a crappy tone.... Stick with the bullet and you won't be disappointed....

Edit: You can probably bargain the LP special into your budget if you buy it from a store..... Maybe you will require an extra 500-1000 bucks...
    You can't bargain online...

What kind of amp are you looking for? What is your budget?

And for 8-10ks for both guitar and amp, a squier bullet strat and a laney lx12 will be one of the best combo...

DON'T buy the marshall... You're gonna regret it...

NS30 is good but the distortion channel is pretty noisy. We had that amp back in our school and I've played it tons of times to say so... Stranger would be a lot better than laney if you are choosing to buy a processor so planning to use only its clean channel but the quality of inbuilt effects are much better in the LX12...

Once again, I repeat, don't buy the marshall....

A year earlier it was Rs 7000 for the strat and Rs 3500 for the amp.. So a total of 10.5ks..

But, since the prices have gone up due to rupee weakening, expect a 20% higher price... Look around your city (Delhi has gazillions of guitar stores) for old stock and competitive prices and then buy...

One very good solid state modelling amp i bought recently was the fender mustang I 20w, for home use. I paid 7.5k for it. Very good clean tones and a killer distortion tone (all in all 8 amp modelling including some very neat fender vintages). Also it come with some fx too (flanger, phaser, tremolo, various delays, etc.). All in all very neat package for the price.
