I brought my laptop early this year mainly so i can play skyrim and it did on ultra really well. Lately the whole computer is lagging something terrible. Empire total war campaigne map is unplayable - Skyrims voices dont even match up with the animation anymore ( and thats not even on ultra with all mods turned off).

What i have tried so far
    - CCleaner ( buisness )
    -Disk Defrag
    - turning off some of the start up programmes
    - Laptop on high performance power setting
    -gamebooster
    - changed virtual memory

    Try the following:-
    1) Scan you computer with a latest Antivirus
    2) If step 1 doesnt work Format ur PC and reinstall Windows
    3) If Step 1 and Step 2 fails then Change ur RAM or try to find the RAM which is faulty
    4) If it still shows similar behavious then there is something wrong with the motherboard or some other part..

    alpha1 I BLUES!

    Everyone is a criminal.
Ppl are law abiding only when either of the following two criteria are met :
    1. You are pretty comfortable in the current state and thus require no change in state/action (of course this is very personal and contextual - and hence we can never predict a criminal activity)
    2. There is someone watching you

If both of the above are not met, I can assure you that even you would be doing something that is deemed illegal at some place in this world (in cold blood).

There is also a case of misplaced intelligence - arousing from anger, fear, hate etc. But that is something else. (crime due to passion)

(Its fun to be such a killjoy!)

    Try these steps......
    1) Defrag the Hard Disk using Auslogics Disk Defragment tool, it defrags and optimizes the HDD for better performance. Windows Defrag tool is really Basic.

DISCLAIMER ---- ENSURE THE REGISTRY IS BACKED UP BEFORE YOU PERFORM ANY OF THE STEPS BELOW, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THESE ARE NOT PERFORMED AS SAID, IF DONE INCORRECTLY THE REGISTRY MAY GO CORRUPT CRASHING THE SYSTEM........

    2) Start > Run > Regedit > Click on Edit > Find, In the search Type "waittokillservicetimeout", Once the search is done, double click on it to change its value from 20,000 to 200. 20,000 is the default value you will see there.
    3) Perform the same Steps again as mentioned in Step 2, only this time search for "waittokillapptimeout" and change its value.

    4) Start > Run > msconfig > Click on the Services Tab > Check the box at the bottom which says "Hide All Microsoft Services", Then what you see are services that are not much essential to the OS operation, However be careful when unchecking the ones you think are not needed to run at all times, this will help too...

    5) Use the AUslogics Registry Defrag tool as well, it is a great tool to defrag and optimize the registry, makes a lot of difference in performance.
I cant think of any more options at the moment....will post as and when i remember more.....

Just format your whole hard drive and install windows 7 ultimate...
And a less heavy anti virus.. like Avast... ( Its really good)..
And never use softs. like gamebooster.. They all are just bull shits... They just edits the registry settings of your pc and make them slow..

It could due to many reasons like you have to make some updates or it could be due to your outdated anti-virus or probably because of the memory. Try to bring it to an expert and let him do a clear check-up.
