Help need in finding the chords of a song(Tujhe dekha to ye jaana sanam - DDLJ)

Hi guys,

I was trying to figure out the chord for tujhe dekha to yeh jana sanam from DDLJ. I tabbed it like this

I figure it our that all the notes are from C major scale.

but when i tried to find the chord as it starts with Am, but i doesn't sound like the one.

can anyone tell me what actually i've done wrong.


Also if i move the complete pattern to 7th fret it is in some other scale , so how i'm going to figure it out that which is the correct scale of the song.

If a scale is C major or A minor it doesn't mean the first chord will be the I chord(C major or A minor respectively) but most probably it might be C major or A min. There are a lot of chord progressions that doesn't start with an I chord and chords you are looking for might be of other families like major 7th .
Try some more chords in your chord vocabulary and learn to write chords in this format : (I-IV-V) and after that even if you move to any fret, you can find the relative key and use he relative chords from the progression .
like, I-IV-V progression in C is C major, F Major and G major chords , and the I-IV-V progression in G is G major C major and D major.
if you dig more into this stuff, it's gonna help you a lot.

 

I know this thing, thank you for your reply . I'm not saying that A minor is the chord of first song. All I'm saying in that A is the note played in the beginning of my tab, so a chord having A note should be the chord to be played over here, if I'm not wrong.

That means the possiblity is Aminor, Fmajor, or Dminor. But when i tried to confirm from web it showing Em. So what actually I'm doing wrong over here. Can you please help me with that?

If you are sure about the chords ,What you can do is use a capo or change the key by moving the picking pattern you found and move it down 7 frets and play the exact something (as you suggested)and try the Em chord what you found on internet, after all play what sounds good to you.

 

one more thing buddy see i can play the same tabs in different key, then how will i'll make it sure that which key is correct. as in, if i move to 7th fret it is in different key????

 

Finding the key is based on the chords, you just have to make sure, you are playing in harmony with the chords. There's nothing wrong in playing a different key as long as guitar, singer, and the whole band is playing in the same key
