Hey guys, it has been almost 3 years im learning guitar and i am thinking of buying an electric guitar for around 20K to 25K (a little flexible). Can someone suggest me some good companies or maybe the model number if possible which are good and under my budget. I am totally looking for the quality and don't give a damn about the looks :D

Check out Facebook: AM Used musical instruments. Join that group and there are lot of guys selling out there USED guitar. And i have seen some really amazing deals happening over there. U might just get a guitar worth 40k under 20k and good quality... So do keep an eye for such products....

As far as new ones are concerned in ur budget u can check out models from Ibanez, Fender Squiers, Greg Bennets, Cort, Yamaha.

Check these sites to get an Idea of the prices .
Home - BAJAAO - Buy online and Review Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, Studio, P.A. Audio Equipment in India
Buy Guitars, Pianos, Keyboards, Drums & Music Instruments Online in India | Online Musical Instrument Store | Furtados Online

And how much is ur budget for an Amplifier?
BY the way whats ur music style? Hardcore metal head or a blues player?

hi Krypton, you may want to specify what type of music you will play? I am not an expert but an important point i know from this forum
:For a given price Buy a good specd guitar from a decent company than low specd guitar from a more reputed one. If you can get hold of a higher specd guitar (in good condition) in the seconds market don't give it a miss.

Any way here are few suggestions you will find:
    1. Greg Bennett AV6
    2. Cort CR280
    3. Cort EVL Series
    4. ESP MH250NT
    5. Ibanez RG series that fall in ur budget. Probably 3xx ones.
    6. Schecter Damien/Omen

These are few i can remember being suggested here.

Also do checkout Hagstrom guitars - they have some nice guitars which come under 25K. Eg: Ultra Swede model. you get some good versatile tones with that .. I just tried on this model at SOUNDGLITZ in Bangalore.

@Deekzz: I saw Hagstrom at one of the online stores. Good that you have tried it. Mind posting a first impression of the brand/guitar?

if u r planning 2 use the tremelo arm.......then go for original flyod rose bcoz the copy or duplicate versions of flyod rose goes out of tune in between the song{this stuff really creates a problem when playing on stage}........you may try cort (the evl series) the models are k4,k6,x4,x6.....................they will cost u around 25k ........checkout Cort Guitars..........

these guitars sound great....cort is one of the major guitar producer in the world..............even companies like ibanez and fender produce their middle range guitars in cort,s factories................so dont waste ur money on high range gutars...........

and as considered to pickups go for EMG{they sound great}.......the above model i have said has both EMG pickups and original flyod rose..............you buy a guitar once nt every day..................its nt abt money its about the emotions attached with ur instrument......so choose carefully................

and its not on the guitar much its ur proccesor which actually controls the sound and the amp..........

and remember what ever guitar ur play.....the sound depends less on the gear and more on how u play the instrument and with how much dedication, effot and emotion u play the guitar.........if u play with a lots of dedication and effort ur sound will be good though if the gears are less costly............

There are plenty of options at your price range... These ones are the best of the lot:
1 - Samick Greg Bennett Avion AV6 (24k) Without trem
    2 - Ibanez RG 350DX/370DX (23k) with trem
3 - Schecter Omen Extreme FR (23k) with trem (THE BEST ONE)

My suggestion, DON'T go for ESPs (at your range), Jackson JS series guitars, gios, sqiers, Corts or BC Rich Warlocks (They are the shittiest of the lot)...

You won't get PRS at your range.... They all start from 32-35k mark...

What is the difference between the ibanez rg 350DX and 350MZ???
And are the Greg Bennett guitars in this range any good???

Its just that the DX and the EX series of Ibanez have the sharktooth inlays unlike MZ or whatever (boring dotted inlays)... Technically, no difference in tonality but if you want to look stylish while shredding, sharktooth inlays are always a preference...

    U kidding me??

Greg Bennett AV6 (mind you this particular model ONLY) will anyday beat the crap out of an Epiphone Les Paul... People compare this particular guitar with an original Gibson LP (and I'm not joking!)

Yeah the only thing that compares is the body shape & pickup layout. Maybe the colour used on the finish is similar too.

Thanks for ur help everyone :D just need a little more
After some research i hav shortlisted these four guitars
    The Schecter Demon 6
    The schecter omen Extreme FR
the Ibanez RG 370 DX and
the Samic Greg BEnnet Avion AV6
Since the Schecters were unavailable i wasn;t able to compare them, can some one tell me if the schecters are better than the ibanez and the AV6 or not????
Again thanks for your help :D

As I told you earlier, all depends upon you, if you need a tremolo bar or not..
All the guitars stated above are in the same league buy I'd personally prefer the schecter omen extreme fr and the AV6 but once again, it all depends on how you like them and how they fit your style... I would recommend you not to buy any guitar without trying them out personally..

Comparing the guitars and taking into consideration, here's what you should think about:
1- Of all the guitars you stated, those which have trem systems (the schecters and the ibanez), are equipped with original ones so you don't have to worry about tone... The edge zeroes of ibanezes are improved version of floyd roses and have a slightly better tuning stability than the floyd rose originals in schecter but that shouldn't be much of a concern to you...

2- Tone wise, the Avion kills all of these taking into consideration its versatility and liveliness because of its extremely heavy mahogany body... The rest of the guitars are basswood and do pretty good for rock and metal.... However, the Avion isn't equipped with a trem system so if you need one, the Avion won't definitely be your choice as it has a TOM (fixd) bridge...
As far as my thoughts are concerned, that Schecter's pickups are a whole lot better than the Ibanez infinities....

3- (IMPORTANT) Do know that Schecters are known to have extremely thick and fat necks... If you happen to have small fingers, you'll have difficulty accessing the 5th and 6th strings especially in the higher frets... That's the precise reason as to why I chose a samick AV3 over a Schecter Omen 6 FR for my first guitar... Ibanez RGs have thinner necks comparatively and ideal for small fingers... However if that's not an issue, Schecter should be an ideal choice...

Normally guitars in the 20-25k range arent a significant improvement over the ones in the 15-20k range so i never suggest them
but out of all the ones i know i would say
the only great guitar i've seen in this range is the PRS 25th Anniversary Custom 24 513
else get a decent 16k mahogany wood guitar and spend the rest on pickups/better cables etc etc..thats what i would do...

    else
Cort KX1Q- 20k... consider it as one of your options

    Best of luck

Are you sure you are talking about the PRS 25th Anniversary Custom 24 513 coz as far as I know its cost is around 2.5 lakhs....As for it I have hardly seen any PRS guitar below 35k...
