This is the thread I (and you, if you ask nicely) will use to post when you are annoyed. I go first: Did anyone know that Geocities had shut down? Did anyone even use Geocities? Does anybody even care? I had a few songs that I'd posted on here with links to the geocities page. I was trying to find a particular recording and I now find that the geocities page has disappeared altogether....and now I'm upset because a couple of them were originals and while I still have them in my head, I'd love to listen to the 2005/6 version of them. So, here is how you can help me. a) Does anybody who's been here a while (I'm looking at alpha1/arnold/keoraf here) have any recordings that I'd posted from ages ago? If yes, can you send them to me? b) I had once made a thread where I'd posted a tune I had in my head that was straight from a cartoon on doordarshan called Thumbelina. It was dubbed (I think) in Hindi...even the music was in Hindi and Thumbelina sang a song for her prince which has been stuck in my head since I was about 7 years old (I am now 27, for reference). I cannot find that thread on IGT anymore which annoys me (Actually, I think I'd posted it on the rival to IGT, guitarmanna, created by our very own Dharmatma). Anyway, does anybody remember the cartoon I'm talking about? Can you find a link to it online? even the English/non hindi language version would be great. c) Similar to b, there was also a cartoon on Doordarshan called Lily Ke Phool about a queen who throws a tantrum for lily flowers in winter. The starting theme for that is also stuck in my head and probably will be forever. If anyone knows the cartoon I am talking about and can find the English, hindi or other version of the cartoon online and give me a link, please do.
Haha, I think I have some of your songs. Perhaps this Thumbelina thingie ... Too bad Geocities went down - WestHollywood was my favorite hanging out place.
haha, your kindness is disarming <3 Don't feel too bad though. I'm still up on my feet....like I said, I have them all in my head and I have a photographic memory for music somehow (and really not otherwise though I do tend to remember things from when I was 2-3 years old too). It'd be nice to not have to write down tunes again but hey, it'll come out different because I used to be a better guitarist earlier and now, I need to improvise because I can't play most of the things that I used to. We'll see. Or someone will know what I'm talking about and come to the rescue. This is where I miss Martina....she always had all my tunes when I lost them :')
Alpha, the thumbelina one would be great because I can't seem to figure out the chords I was playing to it then and maybe hearing it would help....actually, I don't have any of my old stuff so if you do find something, let me know. I think Thumbelina might've been titled "my song".
I'm sorry BJR, i don't have any of your recordings. Glad to hear Alpha have some of the recordings. And perhaps some others will have too, good luck man!
i have only 'Something' by you on my HDD (it crashed and i lost all my data so it's the only one that miraculously got recovered) but if you remember sending me any of your recordings by email, let me know which ID you'd sent it on so i can check..nothing ever leaves my inbox :grin:
