If you tell why you want the axe fx i may be able to suugest alternative options. What kind of sounds or tone are you after and what is your current rig and what do you find missing in that?

Damn thats an awesome budget.....There are lot of people who can get the stuff for u from US. Or rather small companies...Sadly i had a contact of one of the person who use to import but he is no more :(...U can google and get some more contacts who help importing stuff from abroad...

You don't get the Axe fx just by going to the shop and purchasing it... You need to pre-book it well in advance.. and the waiting period is around 6 months i guess..

Getting a POD HD would be better IMO, the eleven rack as a lot of features for protools which are completely useless if you dont use pro tools. And I don't think the modelling is worlds apart either.

Damn, 1.3 lacs was my budget for a Gibson LP Traditional Plus, Spending that kind of money on electronics.......no matter how good it is doesn't make sense to me, just my opinion............I bet you or anyone wouldn't use all the features in the Axe FX in its lifetime.....Nevertheless all the best!!!!!!!

I would suggest you to get some decent individual pedals, a good distortion pedal and a Reverb / Delay Pedal is all you need to start with, do not go for processors unless you are absolutely sure you are going to use most of the patches in it. I mean why not get individual effects and get a fantastic sound, than get all pedals in the processor and get 100 average tones?

Do it slowly, and then get the pedals you need over a period of time, that's a slow process but worth each rupee you spend.

    i was just suggesting it
also processors should be taken after u know that most of the effects/distortion(whatever) are suitable for u and would help you to get a good sound
also processors require a large investment
but a collection of pedals can be made slowly by making small investments(unless there is emi on the processor)

Perhaps I don't like lugging lot of pedals and the power bricks and cable interconnects and pedal board etc along with me.
Processor is a dinky thing to carry in a handbag.

Frankly, the pedals are not that different sounding from a good processor patch.

The one thing I hate about processors is that they lack flexibility... and distortion, on all of the processors I have played sucked big time... Processors can be used for their modulation effects as they are anyways digital on most of the pedals as well...

arya i have never owned a mfx unit had always been a tube snob
tried a friend's hd500 the reverb, delay and cleans on it were nice but the distortion pedal models were gross and the fireball model was kinda loose but not not crap
still trying to make up my mind on that but will be ordering a orange ppc412 for sure and the rga72qme is no longer in stock its floating version the rga72tqm is available sans the 81/85 pups which i don't care for...have give up my hope on the axe fx hopefully i will post a ngd by the end of the month :)
