Just curious to know if you have any control over the Ads that u show on top of the page. Some of the ads are really very weird.."Meet singles" with photo of a voluptous pretty girls. Its not too decent to be watched in the office environment.... Would really appreciate if you could control such ads..atleast photo content...
@Alpha - @mymusicmyguitar - shouldn't be getting such ads, as we use Google Adsense and they are pretty strict about what goes up from their end. Do let me know if they show up often. Unfortunately we have no control over those ads.
this is true it should be looked upon i am 15 if my parents come around i have to shut the browser also try to bring ads related to the needs of musicians what we would with makeup brand ads that keep coming up
Yes it does show up...I will try clearing the cookies and temporary files...I am pretty sure that my computer is not infected with Virus..Coz the security system at our office(being into investment banking) is way to tight....So i am sure there is a loop hole in google adsense... and i see them atleast once per 5 page refreshes....
Erm....Unless you guys are using Internet Explorer as your primary browser, haven't you heard of an extension called Adblock plus? For firefox:- https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ For Chrome:- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb
As Vendettarevived has mentioned, you can choose to block ads using 'Ad Blockers'. That should solve the problem, temporarily. However, it can be the case with many other visitors too, and I've shot a mail. Let's see what we hear from Google. Cheers.
Doesn't seem so :. Take a look at what I get: (See the big blank gap) Looks like we get a filtered versions of website (in the name of "security")
damn....I cannot install anything on this machine.....So i guess i will hav to surf the site when nobody is around. I hope that such ads are taken care from the IGT side and not from the browser side...
Perhaps you can try this: Portable App Directory | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives No "installation" crap required. No registry entries made.
@mymusicmyguitar - Most often, the ads served will be based on the IP activity. I guess you are on a common company IP, where someone else is frequently visiting dating / networking website, which is why Google is showing those ads when you visit the site. Try alpha1's solution and let me know if that worked.
Dating/networking sites are restricted in the company...They dont open up at all...So i am pretty sure no one is accessing those sites... Yup will check what alpha has suggested...That site seems pretty interesting....
Weird ....All of a sudden i am not getting any ad on the page since last 2 hours...it shows blank....I was just going through the internet options and checking for any spam ad blocker setting....I think i just turned ON something to block everything..I hope the blocking continues when i reset my pc...
Well figured it out... On the Internet Explorer Click on Tools --> Check "InPrivate Filtering" and refresh your page.. There you go no more ads...It will be white blank box....Awesome!!! I am using Internet Explorer ver 8
