Bass guitar under 10- 12k

Hey guys, can you suggest a couple of cheap beginner bass guitars under 10k-12k? Its for my bands bass guitarist. So please help me out. We play a lot of metal and classic rock and stuff.... Thanks.

 

i have seen good bands playing cheap bass guitars like giVson jaguar (4-5k)....a bass guitar from yamaha...i dont know the model...is under 10-12k... as the experts say...the best bet is the ibanez jazz bass (14k or something)....but personally I love my dean but it came in 17K...

 

yamaha rbx 170 was the name is guess

 

Alright, the yamaha rbx is already in the list.. How about cort action basses?

 

Squier MB4 is a good bass as well...

Yamaha RBX170 is nice and the Ibanez GSR-200 is not too bad either.

You could look at any other starter bass with a P+J pickup combination as the variety of tones available will be larger for anything from funk to metal.

 

I vote Yamaha Rbx170 and Ibanez Gsr200, over Cort Action..
but if Cort Action DLX is on the list, it is better than the Ibanez, IMO

what are p and j pickups
i know 2 types of pickups
1. 1 pickup with 8 magnets(or poles)
2. 2 pickups with 4 magnets each joint to each other

both have 2 magnets for each string i guess
which of these is a p and j pickup

J pickups = Single coils

Well thats misleading...

Btw The yamaha rbx is around 14-17k last I saw. If you want a good sound and a cheap bass try out Java Eb-13 its a fender p-bass rip off but the best buy I made..excellent sound, good make and after a little set-up you can eliminate the intonation issues. You'll have to check alot of the makes of the model coz some might be defective.

P pickups = pickups seen on standard Fender Precision Bass(American Standard)
J pickups = pickups seen on standard Fender Jazz Bass(American Standard)

Musicman pickups = pickups seen on Musicman StingRay Bass(Classic StingRay 4)

Soapbar pickups = pickups seen on basses like Yamaha TRB(TRB1005 - TRB Series - Basses - Guitars & Basses - Musical Instruments - Products - Yamaha United States)

try out yamaha rbx270...got alder body ...more aggressive tone like fenders....it costs about 15k...havent played cort action dlx but they look cool...with the fake flamed top...i guess looks matter more in your case
