yeah. Although the DEAN has dual humbuckers so it'd be better than an epiphone. But an epi with dual humbucks will do just as well.

I got an Epihpone LP standard II (dual humbucker, 15k) 3 weeks ago and am loving it. Came just inside my budget. Hate the processor though (Digitech RP90). I tried Bed of Razors and it sounded good. Infact I saw three Epiphone models all with dual humbuckers.
Dean didn't really fit my budget.

Dude the Dean ML XM costs around 15k and the vendetta xmt is even cheaper.....Even u get Jackson JS35RR at around 18k but as far as i have heard from people a v shaped guitar is very uncomfortable to practise...Any idea guys?

I'd say for an extended budget go for jackson js35rr or js35ke.... Ke being an explorer is much more comfortable.... I 've had a good expirience with the rhoads type v, the speed v and the les pauls.... V can be hard to play in the beginning since most guitarist rest their guitar on their right leg... But in the v, placing the v groove on the right leg feels as if placing a double cut on the left... Try playing your own guitar that way.... Standing posture has no difference at all.... Wether a v or any other shape.... But still i'd say les paul and explorers are still better than any other shape.....

And as far as a good sound goes.... Metal requires two things.... A nice heavy distorted sound with an amp able enough to make it sound good and not fuzzy... Even with a low end guitar you can play the best of metal songs if you have these two good..... A good guitar only adds to ease of playability at the difficult runs like solos or tougher riffs....
