    A real story
a person's family shifted from kashmir to jammu(the migration--hopefully u know about it)
they lived in a house on rent
at night they heard sounds of gunghroos(dancing anklets) from the floor above
    they became very scared
then one night he checked the stairs and there was no one
and he heard the sound of running(because of those anklets)
this continued for a few nights until he finally went up to check what was happening
    and what did he see

there was a cat wearing those anklets

Yes and all paranormal simulations have a logical/rational explanation.
Just that ppl are unwilling to find them (everyone loves fairy tales ...)

well, it would be rather boring to believe that we were born to procreate and die. Everything else we weave around us are fairytales but I'm not complaining.

or maybe they are scared of the thought of ghosts in their houses

Well, a friend's friend used to tell of his neighbor's place where a bride was possessed. They tried doctors, but gave up all hope when she one day lifted a few inches above her bed...a la criss angel !
Then a tantrik was called and it was confirmed its some case of annoyed pitras... Pujas followed and she got cured later.
Well, the truth can't ever be confirmed unless I see it myself though !

I've heard rumors that they have to keep a separate place in their homes for the serpents and ghosts else they get angry and do some shit on you.
Its quite scary during the night, riding there. I've been there with a biker group and must say, going alone needs a braveheart.

that is maybe because of the thought of the spirits that has been made in your mind by some rumor spreaders

    hahaha..!!
all of this reminds me of our school trip..we went to shimla..and we heard all sorts of stories from everyone...that on this road once an accident happened and then when due some rock or something the bus would stop and we would be in the middle of the story...we would stare at each other and then aaaaaaaaaaa....would shout out loud..hahaha..was fun but hell scary at that time..

.the night journey in the bus...total darkness and friends!
we did a lot of crazy shit...tried calling ghosts..but sadly none came.. :( haha
we also had a friend..she wasn't really scared of any ghost shit but of the dark..
and damn her face literally was white as a sheet..ultimately we had to stop coz i really thought that she was gonna have a stroke or something..

Not you lol... The one you quoted before... Well, anyway...When I came back frm the ship, I woke up two nights screaming, and was scared as hell. Worse, I didn't even remember what scared me, a dream? Dunno why, but it stopped after that. Maybe change in environment, I got so used to silence while sleeping that even clock ticks used to wake me up...

Right, my hostel days we used to sit for hours at night and share such stories <3
One of us was so dramatic he used to actually sound real.
Also, next day lectures were spent sleeping :)
