I've finally gotten better at using Audacity and fixed my latency issues to an extent so this ends up sound better than it otherwise would. It's one of those songs I always wanted to learn to play but never did because it was quite simple....and now I finally took the pains to try and figure it out. I am a sucker for 2 man songs. I think this sounds pretty nice but I'd love your opinion on it too.

Let me know what you think:

It goes without saying that I wasn't expecting to do the falsetto part any better than I did.

Sweet cover!!! Pretty much spot on throughout... Superb recording quality too.

Falsetto/harmonies get pitchy at times (or maybe I'm too used to hearing pitch corrected audio in the music I listen to). Sounds raw and very natural though.

thanks man...most of these covers that I am posting are stepping stones to getting better. Each song, I try to focus on something specific that I'm having problems with. On this one, I was trying to focus on getting a good tone on the guitar with my fingers....recently, my fingers were being lazy and not really plucking properly so I wasn't sounding good even if I got the song right. I think I got that in this one.

I also love to singing though I don't have quite the voice for it....honestly, when I listen to this song right now, I'm sort of reminded of kittens mewing in some of the high parts (all you have to do to make it real). I think I get better the more I sing so I'm keeping at it. It's also the reason why I use harmonies to try and cover up that my voice isn't powerful enough to sing something like this. I'm usually better at singing a Simon and Garfunkel type song with softer vocals.

A decent cover man, its done pretty well.
Just one thing, the double voice isn't done the proper way, isn't sounding very well, there is some room for improvement.
And the na ni na ta ta, 01:50, it is good but it is sounding a little childish, i mean it is like some kid is singing, very funny!
But as i said before, just a decent cover man!
    Take care!

haha, I agree...I was thinking if I should do it again but really, that is what my voice sounds like after cracking on the high notes! Thanks for listening.

edit: by double voice not being done the proper way, do you mean that the harmonies are not synched or not in tune or both?

Both, its a little bit out of tune and the harmonies aren't synched too.
Choirs must be a little bit out of sync, but yours is just too much.
But don't worry man, it is a very good performance, just a few little things to improve!

    Wow i loved it...

i am by nature more focussed on listening to Guitar parts than the vocals(I liked ur vocals though) :p

Loved ur playing..U have a very sweet/soft touch on the guitar which i like the most.. And the melody in the background was spot on..

Till you pointed it out, I didn't think the harmonies were that off but I do believe you're right now...thanks, I'll try to do a better job on them on the next recording.

I was really focussing on the guitar and getting the tone right and I was quite happy with the sound I got on this...only, now I have to make sure I can do this for all songs. Thanks for listening.

haha <3 if past record is anything to judge by, she will get tired of the guitar fairly quickly (not of me....nobody could tire of me!).

I can't play what I want to so no, that will have to wait for quite some time. There is a reason I'm doing these covers...each one has a point.

I liked the melody part...somehow i came to conclude that my voice is much similar to yours ... though i find it much more difficult to maintain correct note...

    btw What's your plan?

I need to get better at everything....really everything. On the acoustic guitar specifically before I start playing my own music -

Strumming, holding chords, making sure my fingers don't touch adjoining strings, getting a good tone from my fingers, re-learn lots of chords that I can't use anymore, getting my sense of rhythm back, learning to play and sing at the same time again, stretch my fingers properly

This is before I even get my hands on an electric again where I always knew close to nothing but still managed to sound okay.

Vocals-wise, I know I'll never have a great voice but there's so many things I know I can do better....not sing like a girl, hold a note steady for longer than 2 seconds, not vibrate my voice when I don't want to, throw my voice out more, sing more in general, sing better on lower scales (this is just a practice thing), listen harder to songs and sing according to the tune and not just in scale, get back into harmonies....I can't understand why harmonies seem so difficult not because I never learnt them, they always came naturally but I'm usually off key these days.

A lot of these things don't come overnight....it's easier when you're learning them again definitely but it still takes time. I'm unlearning mistakes, trying to overcome sloppiness in playing and also trying to spend more time with the guitar than I have in a fairly long time. The only things that I have on my side are a sense for melody and a sharp ear (they are both gifts and not really to my credit)....luckily neither seems to go away.

In about a year, I hope I can play like this again....I think I used to be able to for some time (of course my voice was never this good, probably my sense of rhythm wasn't either):
