hi friends I actually joined the site a year ago but i havent been much active in the year. Well I am Abhiroop, engineering student from Goa. i am a die hard metal head. I am a huge fan of Megadeth,Trivium,Slayer,Avenged Sevenfold,Pantera,Metallica(mostly old stuff),Anthrax,Testament,Annihilator,Alter Bridge,Black Veil Brides,All That Remains,Children Of Bodom, Rise To Remain and billions of other metal bands. I have been playing guitar for nearly a year and play mostly metal stuff. Some of my favourite guitarists are Dimebag Darrell, Jeff Loomis(he is GOD), Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Chris Broderick, Dave Mustaine, Alexi Laiho, Steve Vai, Synyster Gates, Matt Heafy and Corey Beaulieu, Jason Becker, Andy Timmons, Andy James and loads of other guitar gods. Hope to meet new metal heads across the country and have fun... Cheers \m/
Hey there.... Am a metalhead too just like you..... Final year MBBS student from lucknow.... Which guitarist is your fav and also the song??? For me it's a tie between 3.... Tornado of souls, master of puppets and symphony of destruction.... Love to play all 3 anytime i get a moment to sit....
Hey dude...First of all u must be a pro guitarist for the fact that you can play tornado of souls solo..Its one of my most favourite song.... I am a huge fan of marty friedman but ever since i heard Jeff Loomis he has been my favourite guitarist...Dunno if you have heard of him but do check out the song "Miles of Machines" by him...Also some of my other fav songs r "A gunshot to the head of trepidation" by trivium...its got one of the most epic guitar solos i have ever heard...And again i love "Holy wars","hangar 18","wake up dead" by Megadeth a lot...."Speed Metal Symphony" by Cacophony dunno how many people have heard it buts its just \m/...And then there is "Mouth for war" by Pantera....and the list goes on and on....
i listen to metal songs but i dont like them...it has hardly got any feelings in it...just loud and irritating shrieking music thats it...too bad for you that you dont listen to any other music except metal boy
hey i dint say i dont listen to other stuff....Its just metal music has more rawness and energy....I listen to Andy Timmons, Paul Gilbert...they are just amazing guitarist and not metal.....This is a misconception that metal is just loud, irritating....Try listening to the songs "Sacristy","Azure Haze" and "Miles of machines" by Jeff Loomis and if u still call that loud or irritating I have nothing to say....
Yeah two of my favourite songs by andy james are shine on through and aftershock.....the guy has got real feel....
Naaahhh.... I wouldnt call myself a pro anytime soon..... And speed metal symphony is truly awesome as you say..... Havent heard much from nevermore but i have heard miles of machine... The guy is really great..... But marty really is shredding god when it comes to speed with melody.... Just to think that even paul gilbert faded for a moment when the two performes together gave me goosebumps.....
For some real nice feeling in metal.... Try fade to black or one by metallica..... A tout le monde by megadeth...... These are just a few of them.... And metallica is way ajead of other metal bands in making such songs.... If a melodic env is what you like
Well Marty is way too unique...even i thought in that Paul Gilbert and Marty jam Marty outshined him.He uses such complex scales and arpeggios really \m/ ones. Dunno if you have heard "Black orchid"...There Friedman and Petrucci plays together!! Also in Jef Loomis' new album "Plains Of Oblivion"(coming very soon) Marty plays in a song with him. Really cant wait to hear Jeff and Marty together. And obviously man fade to black, one these r awesome tracks. In fact "...and justice for all" is one of my most favourite albums of all time. But ever since Metallica did "St.Anger" they kinda started degrading. "Lulu" was way too much.Although they sort of did a comeback in "Beyond Magnetic". And Megadeth is just GOD!! A Tout Le Monde is like one of their few songs i can play on my guitar!!
Anyone who find metal music harsh should actually use the EQ and cut the 3.5 kHz to 5 kHz spectrum by atleast 6-9dB. It will start sounding decent. PS: Oh, and before some wisecrack comes along and says "But we not are talking about recording metal music, but playing the records". My response: Can't YOU EQ the published records too?
Hey hey, not to get too harsh on anyone....... we metalheads are fine on our own.......isn't it?????? By the way, anyone going to watch nile this may???????
DOESNT ANYONE HERE LIKE KIRK HAMMETT ???? HELL WITH LOOMIS AND GILBERT !!!! THEY ARE GOOD BUT HAMMETT is a GOD !!! Wake up !!!!
well we all do the fact is they dont like him the most because they have listened to a lot more guitarists than you
