I was quite impressed by the playing. I'm not a fan of the version....I love the original though. The heavy power chords at the back sound too dark and a little monotonous....it makes me think of someone singing this song in a psychotic way. Also, why are you a lazy ***** and why don't you play the chords yourself too and make a proper recording?

On the guitar, you sound really nice at the Chitra part. On the Roja Janeman, it reminds me of a really bad singer trying to sing the song...because it's just straight notes and no vibratos or carnatic slides. It's not you though...that's how the cover is.

Also, while looking for the original, I came across this which seems to be in the same Raga and thought you'd like this.

@mymusic, thank you! I'll put some more delay in the next time around for sure, if I ever figure out how to work with my processor :|
@BJR, I don't know, I'm a huge fan of the original, but I like this rendition of the song too. Maybe because of the 'dark' feel to it, and I'd play the chords if I could figure them out :( I've been trying with no luck, please help me! And someone told me that this was in the Kaapi Ragam, the video you posted is fantastic as well.

Don't want to spam your thread, but while searching for other instrumentals i came across this beautiful song, originally by the great Mukesh, Chandan Sa Badan, its played on a sitar, just very professional, a masterpiece!
