    Line6 Tonecore Uber Metal
    or
    Digitech Death Metal
    or
    BOSS DS1 Distortion
    or
    Behringer HD 300/FD 300
    or
    ZOOM G1

Really confused guys please help me choose. I play thrash metal mostly. Really huge fan of Dimebag's tone and Jeff Loomis' tone. So plz recommend.

Yeah..Boss MT2 is good if u have a budget of around 5.5 - 6K...Also check out Digitech Distortion Factory. Around same price...

If you are tight on budget check out Digitech Grunge around 2.7K.. Its much warmer and punchier than the Digitech Death and great tone variations...

Death metal pedal is just hiss sound and less variations in the tone....

Not in favor of Behringer low end pedals. Heard a lot of bad reviews about them.

Boss DS1 is way to mellow but a good pedal..

What amp do you use? I wouldn't advise you to get pedals. Not because "pedals suck on solid statez", its just that a mfx pedal will give you much more versatility and better tones if you spend enough cash. But if you're on a really tight budget, go to a shop and play all the high gain distortion pedals you can find. :)

Metal Zone and a cheap delay pedal should get you to dime sound. The EQ on MT-2 is pretty sensitive and takes some getting used to but can produce a variety of high gain tones.
Look for a used MT-2. Boss pedals can take a nuclear holocaust without breaking a sweat so you can save some money.

well i use a laney lx12 amplifier. i also have a danelectro honeytone mini amp. They both have built in distortion(which pretty much sucks) but just last month i was playing this song blackbird by alterbridge on my friend's line6 pod and ever since been looking for a decent processor if not a pod. Couple of people told me that a line6 tonecore uber metal is decent.I cant afford a tube amp right now.So looking for something cheap.

I'm against the whole pedals suck on solid states thing. Hence the quotations and the 'z'. Ive seen a video were a guy uses a ds-1 with a laney lx12 and its pretty good :).

Pretty good for rock and slash :). A little eqing can help a lot...
    VYPYR SOUNDS BETTER XD.

Budget? If you have something around 8k, get the vypyr 15 amp man. Killer metal tones. Or get a boss me-25 or something. I have no idea how the pedals will sound on the lx12 but my ds-1 sounded pretty good on a local solid state amp (not stranger (it sucked on stranger)).
Man vypyr 30 for 13k is your best bet. And instead of getting a whole new guitar, just change the bridge pickup of the strat you have and it'll be a solid rig. The vypyr 30 is an excellent amp and I believe it sounds much better than my 15 w vypyr. I LOVE MY 15W VYPYR. Its amazing. It makes me happy every single day i have never ever regretted this choice. Although I wish i'd have spent 5k more and gotten the vypyr 30.. Totally, it'll cost around 18k or 13k depending upon which vypyr you get :).
Here are some videos to convince you -

Vypyr tube(Studio quality) (you'll get the 60 watt combo for 22k in india)

peavey vypyr 15 settings - YouTube
Peavey Vypyr metal test - YouTube

    Combo of tones
Peavey Vypyr 75- Little demo (720p High Defination) - YouTube

This will give you an overall idea of how the vypyr sounds.
The amp sounds better in person too. It has many famouse amps like a diezel herbert, 6505, dual rectifier, krank krankenstein, xxx, joe satriani sig jsx, fender twn, fender dlx, marshall plexi, peavey classic etc etc. All of them are good. The 6505 and rectifier are amazing for metal. Most bands use em like bfmv, august burns red etc etc.

This is the best choice you can make. Go for it I say.

The vypyr tube is way better than the vypyr solid states.

This was recorded by my friend on a phone camera placed pretty awkwardly away from the amp during a practice session in a tiny room with poor acoustics. The amp in question is a Laney LX20.

ReTurn 2 Serenity CoveR - BLACK REGIMENT - YouTube

My signal chain is Ibanez RG -> Metal Zone -> Beta Aivin Delay -> Laney LX20.

Please excuse the bad tuning, numerous mistakes and other nonsense in the video.

between Digitech Death Metal and Hot Head which is better suited for metal??? I love heavy thrash riffs but i also like lead oriented stuff like A7X, GnR etc...Is the death metal suited for that kinda music??? Also hows the Digitech Grunge pedal?
