The first thing i saw when i picked up the newspaper this morning was this news of a 17 year old girl raped by her friends in Noida. I threw away the paper that very moment coz things like these makes me annoyed and full of rage. I feel so pissed off.
I think law has to strict for rape cases. Is there nothing we can do?

Thou shaln't see, speak or act. These things are media rage for 2-3 days max and then they die out. Also depends on the accused (rather his father's) social status. ....... Best you can do is, keep your female relatives outta there, unless you have the time, money and energy to bring about a revolution. But it finally rests with the people. No matter how strict you make the law, rich people will always get away. A well known indian judge once said that: Indian laws are not made for the rich/influential.

One reason why there are no strict laws for rape cases is that most of the rapists are sons/relatives of the law makers..

    many laws r made..none followed...
all we can do is to keep our minds clean..nd try to stop others ..and if we can't do tht..
just try to help them to at least..report in the police
but then again the vicious cycle goes on

the victim musters enough courage to go the police..but guess what happens? police harasses them further..seriously feel like killing such people..who have law in their hands but look at the mentality..!

    i don't think ther's any solution ..

    RAPISTS...

i dun think jus rich and influential or educated lot do that..
i think their minds are clouded by irrationality and they can't think or see or feel anything to act so brutally..
take a look on regions like haryana..not such a rich state but all such sort of crimes tk place ther..

its a part of growing up, family conditions, etc... And region too. The major difference in mumbai and delhi(and suburbs) is extreme westernisation. Not that its bad, but there's still lots of differences between the west and delhi too. For eg., the age when boys and girls get wasted for the first time. This acts like a stretched cord, even though they developed to the point of mimicking almost everythig, they're still not allowed proper *** education, which is a must in the US. And ours still is a male dominated society, leading to the disgusting mentality.

Not particularly related to this case - but if we had an archival where all misdeeds/inaction by Police is recorded in detail.
    Even for small offences.
And similarly for offences committed by the Police personnel themselves.

I think its da same every where, nt particularly west or north, its just dat north being a lil backward in such matters. i bleive its the public who needs to get alert, alert in helping such poor or illiterate people to stand up for themselves, as there r so many rape cases which dnt evn hit the media attntion, here v r just r talking abt the once whch we read, bt wat abt those gals for eg : who r taken as maids and they get raped everyday, and dat too minors. I pity the thght process of every individual :(

    Being on-topic for once:
    The problem is with discipline.

Unfortunately most human beings are not intelligent enough to understand the importance of discipline on their own.
Hence, the ruthlessness of army training.

The same has to happen in this case. (a)Strong laws, (b)strong law enforcers, and (c)strong law enforcement.
    (a) is here.
    (b) and (c) needs pro-activeness from public.
But then the public is thoroughly indisciplined, and thus does not care about law.
So even if by some chance (b) becomes a reality, (c) will never.

    So its a catch-22.
