I'm looking for a bass amp in bangalore.
    Preferably 60w-100w, something inexpensive..
Well, nothing interesting has turned up so far...well, except for a roland cube-60xl bass amp 60 watts, 10 inch speaker, also has a DI i think.. priced around Rs. 14500 ( the guy at store said they can give it at some discount though)
anyone had any experience with this amp?? i'll be using mostly for bedroom practice and small jam sessions, (no gigs, no loud rock music, we've just started experimenting on blues, blues rock, some jazz rock, soul, funk...those kinda stuffs)
If there are any other suggestions that you have in the 10k-15k price range, will be very much appreciated..
let me stress again, nothing expensive..if it is SOLID with a DECENT TONE, it will work just fine.
also if there's anyone in Bangalore willing to sell their used amps, shoot me a message, maybe we can workout a deal.

Guess we dont have too many bass players here!
my suggestion would be to check out a few Peaveys in ur price range
my ex-Basist always alternated between peavey/hartke amps... both purchased for approx the same price...
but peavey, according to me, had a richer sound
i have no idea how much it was for though
check a few out in your range

"mostly for bedroom practice AND SMALL JAM SESSIONS" ...please re-check my post :)
even though i'm gonna use it mostly for bedroom practice, a "small 30w or so" practice amp wouldn't cut through in a full band jam session (drums, keyboard and 2 guitars + vocal monitors) and besides the only jam space we have is open-air (one of my friend's courtyard to be exact)..

i've heard good things about Peavey but i haven't seen one here in bangalore ( i've been scouting for two months)!! laney rb4, laney rb2, hartke b600, roland cube 60 are all i've come across (the guys at the store told me that 60s-150s are hard to get!! is it true?? )..i'll try to get more info on the peavey and maybe see if i can place an order for it.

    hard to get in banglore?
    i doubt it
but like i tell every kid around here
    dont buy without trying
no matter how good the reviews are
    oh yeh
and whenever in doubt i go for roland
cause they are like the all rounders of amplifiers
good sound... trustworthy... can take decent amount of punishment...
but if you can get a peavey then nothing like it

@sumanovo Bought the ZAR 60w and invested the rest of my budget on a "better" bass..! the amp seems dependable, thanks for the suggestion.. however, while playing through the amp, i get this annoying static-pop sound coming from time to time!!!..it doesn't affect teh tone, but its annoying as hell..how can i fix this??!!any comments??
@Vader i'll post the sound samples when i can get my hands on some proper recording device, right now, i fear the bass will damage my present soundcard, hold on there!!

congrats .which bass guitar did you buy?
Well try to change the cables...and tweak the eq settings...if the problem still exists go to the dealer and replace the amp..i never had this kind of problem with my zar amp though

bought an ibby SR520..i usually "don't like" ibanez gitars, was looking for a Squier VM Jazz or a Cort Artisan, but apparently these are impossible to get in Bangalore!!!! and the ibby was the best one i could find in my range.. i was skeptical at first, but man, this bass don't disappoint!! :) i can dial in almost any tone i can think of and smooth playability .. great value for money!!

Ibanez SRs are great man... The neck thickness (or lack of it) is unreal. Does this have the Vari-Mid control or just 3 band EQ?

Anyways, congrats on the good buy...

found the problem..its not the amp or the guitar (thank god!), the problem was the shitty electrical lines in my apartment, teh pop comes whenever there's some slight fluctuation in the power supply..!! i should get a stabilizer or something, lest this two-bit amp of mine be damaged..!! :)
