Lets populate this thread - and make this sticky And I belive we should similarly create threads for 10-15k range, sub 10K range, ... etc We have too many threads of these kind loitering on this forum.
I tried to help people in this regard by creating this thread : https://indianguitartabs.com/f18/list-electric-guitars-beginners-43431.html but i don't think people here have patience to search the forum before posting a thread
thats why we would like it to be sticky the best advice try everything in ur budget and buy which u find good for urself
Won't stop anyone from going ahead and making a new thread - "PLS HeLp UrgeNT...................... buying NeW GiTAr............" and then mentioning an 8k budget in their post.
Yeah even i am tired of suggesting the same things over and over again. I had made a thread like that sometime back but wasnt stikied so it got lost. https://indianguitartabs.com/f18/tips-buying-electric-guitars-50571.html here is the link. We can modify it to meet our needs as there is some good advice in there.
I agree with you guys .. I'll have something set up soon. Let's see how we can tackle this problem. The main issue being, newbies lack patience to read something that's already up, they just want specific answers to their questions.
But if you see their questions are mostly similar, the most common i encounter are i want a metal guitar under 10k/15k/20k. Alse we can have a common thread where we recommend these general things and then if they have some specific doubts or questions from this general thread they can ask us.
Also some of the stikied threads are obsolete now especially the price lists, they are from 2005 or something.
i remember in 2011 a guy made a thread for putting his martin guitar up for sale...he purchased that guitar 2years back for 62k INR and now its current price..(new) is 95k....prices have changed alot...
Point taken. Soon we'll work out on new price lists, a centralized place where we can update the data regularly. And meanwhile, we are also in talks with vendors who are willing to work out special prices for IGTians. So you guys can expect gears at discounted prices soon enough. Cheers.
That's a good idea. I am a member of a couple forums, not regarding musical instruments where the vendors participate as well and have discount coupons for the forum members. Always makes a forum stand out.
That can be easily taken care of by not allowing n00b threads unless reviewed by mod/admin. Draconian? Not really. Lets take the flip side - suppose n00bs go ahead and create a new thread - and no one responds (or there are few non productive response). We are still at same situation.
