hello. among granada, gb&a, j&d, pluto, walden acoustics, which one is the best for beginners? Range- 6-7 k (in rupees)? Are there any more brands available in this range? A dreadnought without a cut-away is preferred.
all r good man except gb&a. i personally dont like their tone. if u can afford to buy walden then u shud probably check out yamaha and fenders. but i think yamaha r f cut. rest all depends upon wat u like and wat u want
You missed out Takamine, they make some fantastic guitars, I had a Takamine G320 and I can vouch for it, its a fantastic sounding guitar, Dreadnought, and sounds great must say, I had tried out the walden the other day, it was around 8k at furtados, fantastic sounding guitar, and was really good in terms of playability, well balanced tone.....
but i've heard that takamines are slightly higher priced compared to the others mentioned. Even fender. Most say that its better to not cross the 6 k range in the beginning. A friend of mine told me about tristars too. They've lasted him for close to 3 years. As to yamaha, i dont think it'll be too easily available in hyderabad. F310 is good as most of them told me.
Dude, these things that people tell of do not cross 6k etc is not correct, if you know you will play the guitar for the rest of your life, then you should get the best one your money can buy, Takamine G320 is priced at 8k, atleast when i bought it, so now maybe 9k....these are fantastic sounding guitars, try for yourself to hear what i mean.....
But the catch is i'm 17. So my parents wouldnt buy anything above 7k right now. They say they'll watch me play for a year and if i'm as good as i should be in that time, they'll buy me something way better than my first. Thats why i'm more keen on getting one that is fairly good for a beginner(nothing fancy), something that can take a few bangs from a clumsy beginner, but not above 7k. But yes. I do agree with you. In my range i'll go for the one that sounds and feels the best to me. Not what others tell me to go for. Thankyou for the advice.
Yeah, that's what everyone willing to play guitar should do, choose the right one for you, not the one that feels right to others... Check for a guitar with low action, and the neck would depend on your fingers, big (thick) or small (thin) - and of course it should sound good with a balanced tone, not too trebly or bass heavy.. Please do not go for acoustic electrics in this range, the pickups would sound like crap...and also the overall size of the guitar should be comfortable to play with........All the best buddy, have a good guitar playing experience.
i'll be sure to check all the factors you mentioned. My hands are pretty big and sore fingers wouldnt matter much. And yeah. If i start amplifying what i play from the beginning, my neighbours would start yelling at me. And thanks a lot!
You can try Washburn, I have OG2 series guitar i bought it from pune at 5500/-. very nice sounding guitar.
I checked it out on google. You referred something related to Oscar Schmidt or something? It looks pretty good too. Looks like quality material. Do you know if its available in hyderabad?
thanks for your reply, 1) ya it's Oscar Schmidt - Washburn - OG2 - guitar. 2) Hyderabad is a big city. I think you can definitely find this guitars in reputed shops, who keeps international brands. as far i really don't know anything about Hyderabad city.
Hmmm. Ok then. I'll see if i can find a couple of reviews about it or even better, i'll check it out the next time i go to an instrument store. And thanks for the suggestion.
