I have played on one of the Fenders dont know which model but it was in that 10 - 12k Price range. And i was completely amazed with the wood quality and the rounded tone...

The Ovation that i had checked had a sharp trebbly tone unlike the fenders which was much rounded.

Never played on any Takamines so cant comment..

I had owned a Takamine G320 until a few months back when i sold it for a Taylor mini, I must say Takamine makes some really awesome sounding guitars and are really worth the money, G320 would cost 9k i guess, I paid around 9k too when i bought it 2 yrs back.....Looks and plays awesome....I would go for a Takamine in this price range, however would get it setup as soon as i get it....
