Hello folks... After playing Acoustic Guitar for One & Half I want to proceed to learn Bass guitar... I also have an electric guitar but i feel m born to play bass... so sugggest me A bass guitar and Amp.. budget for bass guitar + amp is 22K Also tell me about Yamaha RBX 374, Ibanez GSR 200 Thank You
The yamaha is an excellent choice. For the amp i would recommend you to try out the hartke combo's, avoid marshalls at any cost.
get a fender squier jazz bass with a tech21 vt bass and some sort of keyboard amp,but it will require you to add a bit more say 3k i didnt liked the ibby gsr its good but compared to the jazz bass....nope the gsr is a p bass has more low end to it but the fender is miles ahead when it comes to playability dunno about the yamaha i guess its a p too, google the difference between a p and a jazz bass and ya burn your marshall mg p.s i am not a bass player i have tried both of these basses in a shop
Play the bass on the keyboard. At least you can switch instruments when you wish to play solos. And the ppl will not come to you and say - hey what were you doing on stage with the guitar? Its the other guy who was playing! But Everyone knows about the keyboards ...
oh then why the hell Steve harris, john myung, krist novoselic, flea etc etc..are wasting their time playing the bass...huh...they should leave the band or opt for keyboard...
i know this thing.....but trust me...bass will satisfy me more than fame.. and i hate keyboard bass....feels unreal......i have seen a band using it....but i dint like their formula
Why switch instruments when you can do the Steve Bailey artificial harmonics??? Check out "Bass Extremes" by Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey. Its a masterclass on how to do Lead bass, Rhythm bass and Bass on the bass guitar...
a synthesizer also has a drum kit tone option where you can play drums.then its better to kick the drummer of your band...a male can emulate a womans voice...but is it worth doing that...bass guitar usually will have longer fret gap as compared to spanish guitar, and thicker strings...you can play bass on a six string spanish electric guitar with the help of pitch shifters...but its not that cool...play bass guitar for bass clef notes...
Relax man, sounds like alpha1 was just being sarcastic... I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt your feelings BTW, have you been a bassist for ages or something? Because a friend of mine (who used to play bass for Moksha) used to fume at the mention of someone saying guitars are more fun compared to a bass...
Nice ruffling a few feather, eh? But in a more condescending tone: What about electronic music? Its all PC/keyboard composed (and its mainly bass and percussion).
Relax buddies! Now me I tried out 3-4 brands and finally I selected Dean Edge 10APJ Skull Crusher as my bass guitar. It just felt incredible to me at tone, ease, looks everything. Costed 17k in jaipur. Specifications: Top: Basswood, Body : Basswood, Neck : Maple Construction: Bolt-On Profile: C Length: 35 inches Fingerboard: Rosewood Frets: 22 Inlays: Pearl Diamond Pickups: Dean PJ Active EQ Tuners: Die Cast Bridge: Die Cast Hardware: Black Graphics : Skull Crusher Since I was out of budget for a good amp so i got a stranger cube40m for 4.2k. Its acceptable to me though. I.ll buy a better one when i.ll have some money. Thanks for the advise people
@harmonizer: Sweet bass man.. Congrats!!! Gotta love PJ basses for their rich palette of tones. And what a paint job... Hope you don't play in a blues/jazz band with that
bassist of 'Wintergate" in jaipur & John Petrucci V.lessons : it isnt a bass amp but its 40W power responded good with the guitar...
