There are different types of guitar surfaces. Does ur guitar have a Mat finish(non glossy look) or a glossy look?

For glossy look there are lot of liquid polishes available on bajaao.com. I think the one by Dunlop which is around 350/- should be good enough.

For Mat finish my friend had polished his guitar with some transparent liquid by Asian paints (70 - 80/-). It adds a shines to the surface by adding a thin transparent layer. I liked the way it looked after applying that.

Well if u r not sure as to what to apply on the wood. The best practice is to experiment by applying the liquid solution to a small portion of ur guitar and letting it dry. Then u can apply to the rest of the body if u r convinced.

By the way .. for fretboard there are different polishes available. Dont use the one that u wud use on the Guitar Body.

What is the point of a matte finish if you're going to ruin it with polish? A damp cloth followed by a clean dry rag is all you need for a matte finish.

Dude if you visit the guitar shop, ask the guy to give you the planet waves express pack for 140 bucks. You get Protect, restore, recover all in one pack but its only for one usage. But thats all you need! After you use it, make sure you dont scratch it anymore :D. Im trying to buy that thing too. Just too lazy to go till the guitar store. Good luck and god speed!

Yeah the matte finish was completely turned into a transparent ..slightly glossy look. But his guitar was really old and after applying that it looked like a new one.
