Its weird that we already dont have a thread on this... I didnt get a chance to go to bangalore for their show just cheering myself up watching the videos 2011 Bangalore Metallica Concert - Memory Remains - YouTube Did any of you manage to see it? how awesome was it?
I heard that the Delhi/Gurgaon show got cancelled. Seems like ppl there actually wanted Metallica to open for Mika ... (no, not Hakkinen)
haha, somebody got trolled... I wouldn't have gone even if I'd been there. I probably couldn't stand the "fans".
hey i did attend the bangalore concert...it was mind blowing...james is so cool...but seriously telling didnt enjoy the song nothing else matters at ol...it could have been lot more better...a scottish band also performed there...just wow....seeing fender americans ,gibson les paul standards, esp explorers,frankestein,woo.....they did kick some ass...master of puppets, fade to black was superb...
:RollLol: It actually did happen. Metallica refused to open for Mika => Crowd unruly => Police not in control (as usual) => Metallica scared for their lives => Show postponed and ultimately cancelled A few F1 "enthusiasts" were temporarily on high, because they felt this was about Mika Hakinen. !!!
^LoL.. !!! btw crowd is always unruly for all such concerts... i wish i was not on vacation that time... Bangalore is the place to be...
yeah i guess you could say that for people who can likeappreciate metal.. but you can't disagree with the fact that metallica is the easiest band to make fun of :
yeah thats true dude but its the starting point nearly for everyone i'm not relly a fan but I feel no shame saying that i would have attended it if it were in mumbai! For me: the choice for me is simple going to the rock concert of an internationally acclaimed band V/s sitting at home listening to music
some people find it cool to say that Metallica suck donkey balls... but they are what they are... They have been the best in the industry... and seeing them live is on my "things to do before i die" list...
well i'm not sure how you can say their recent albums don't suck donkey balls. i mean LULU? LULZZZ also if you see their old albums had a very simple formula (not saying it wasn't good, i love RtL, MoP and all) that was constantly rehashed. it wasn't anything revolutionary so yea..metallica was a good band and that's all that they were. and no matter what some people claim, metallica did not in ANY WAY pioneer the thrash metal genre. so what exactly have they done that so many other metal bands haven't? (except commercial success so....)
naa... you were bashing... so i was defending as simple as that but i agree they are more of a commercial success than anything else probably got great PR reps working for them
Most of their work after 80s have been ordinary i agree... but i think they've been a smart band unlike many other much better bands... And i am a much bigger fan of Megadeth myself... but they are not what Metallica is... surely Megadeth have it's own fan following, but masses do not follow Megadeth like they do Metallica and that makes the difference...that's just my opinion..
no, i was not "bashing". i was presenting a reasoned argument as to why they're just good and not "great". @rickky i know what you mean, but aren't the masses influenced by a lot many factors other than just the quality of music? many bands make okayish music but their music sells loads (arctic monkeys post-humbug are a good example). the only people who i see blindly following metallica (or even megadeth) are those who have heard little of anything else :]
I agree that i have not heard much of anything else... in fact I've not been listening to any kinda music these days..
