there is no limit...knowledge is limitless...but yes there should be mutual understanding between band members...thats wat is most important...
should have chord knowledge.. Little bit of improvisation though originals are okay... Beat knowledge... Should know how to tune his guitar co-ordination... And finally practice practice practice...no matter what you play but practice with your band regularly...knowing your bandmates properly is must...suppose a guitarist misses a chord or the chord didnt work you somehow manage the situation by filling the gap ...the singer forgot the lyrics ...then at once you should backup the vocal part...always remember if there are 3 band mates 3 are playing correct and 1 is playing wrong ...it would together sound kinda awkward.but if all of them play wrong it will sound correct thats what my teacher used to tell me..
@alpha1: Reminds me of a South Park episode on boy-bands You don't have to be proficient to jam in a band but make sure everyone's at the same level when you start off. You guys need to take a call on when you are ready and confident to play a live show though. Jamming in a band does improve your skills immensely.
of course!!!!! why do people always ask this same question everytime???!!!! he holds the groove down and such .................... and again i feel insulted
you just gotta know Cmajor,Aminor,Fmajor and Gmajor...thats it and you end up playing papa kehte hae bada naam krega...hehe
also all u need to start a band is a good PR... then it doesnt matter if all u can do play a few power chords... name urself blue/purple/pink day and be a hit...
It's an obsession only with a minority of the population luckily...the marathis. In before I am not allowed to land in Bombay day after.
