Hmmm Chronologically: 1. Till 2003-04: Vodka - In the beginning, starting hating after first few times. 2. 2004 - 2008: Brandy - Honeybee or Napolean Courrier (or some similar name). In-expensive. Decent flavor. Some cognacs at high end places - when money used to permit. 3. 2008 - present: Dark Rum - Old monk. Still one of my favorites. But too many spurious ones doing rounds these days. Fortunately Old Monk has come out with a premium one too. Nice deep sugar-cane molasses flavor. Love the looks it generates on other ppl's face. Everyone either loves it or hates it. 4. 2010 - present: Indian Made whiskey - Royal Stag, Antiquity. Smooth as well as rough. By the way - I have regularly tried the Indian-Scotch blends like Teachers, Black dog etc. Never liked them. And Single malt scotch - nah, again didn't like them as much. Too rough and strong flavors - Royal Stag/Signature seems smoother to me and few other colleagues. Blended Scotch like Johny Walker seems to be more palatable to me among "Scotch". Hate BEER. End of story. Hate the taste, the flavor, and smell. Absolutely hate the premium or lager or draught beer which doesn't even make you high. EXCEPTIONS: Carlsberg and Touborg. The only beers that I have found palatable! Somehow don't like Wines too much. Too much of the fruity base taste. Sour/astringent/sweet etc.
for me it was 2004-2005 - Mainly white rum and Gin as they were less bitter 2005-2007 - Beer and Whiskey (Cheap beers including Sandpiper and the likes.. and whiskey mainly DSP black) 2007-2009 - Only Royal Stag and Imperial blue (Best bang for the buck daaru ) 2009- present - Only scotch whiskeys .. for the past 2 months i'm only drinking Jack Daniels.. but Black dog and teacher's are my regular brands.. I also never liked wines or maybe i haven't developed a taste for them yet.. I love beer .. all types of them.. i also wanna try Baileys once..never gotta chance till now.. btw i am very outta control when i m drunk (i hate this thing bout myself but its uncontrollable) so i wanna cut down to max 2-3 shots at a time..
c'mon, no one can be uncontrollable unless you REALLY drink out of limit..i think you'll find it within you sometime the will to take control :] (i'm quite vulnerable to it myself, get almost drunk after 2 beers) for me i don't really care much about the taste of what i'm drinking as long as it's getting me high..beer, old monk, dsp black etc. are popular choices.
thats not vulnerability thats being highly efficient... and i m yet to try Old monk.. heard a lot of good things bout it... but i was never into rum but i think now is the time to give it a try... Also share how do you guys drink it.. i mean with coke, lime etc etc..
i prefer mine with coke..if that's not available i rather drink it neat. and i don't get the eventual difference between vulnerability and efficiency?
If you're getting drunk with less alcohol then i think that's high efficiency... .. am i sounding drunk?
haha no, you're right. my point is just that it's the same as saying you're vulnerable to it. :] never mind the terminology though. i'm curious..i've out-drank myself and even passed out a couple of times, but while i was awake i always seemed to be aware and in decent amount of control. have you consciously (with lots of determination basically) tried taking control while drunk? edit: and thats why i prefer the charming square bracket smiley :]
every time i start drinking i decide that its not gonna be like previous time.. but after 2-3 shots are in .. i'm out and it happens 100% of the time

I don't mind kids drinking. That would ensure that only the capable ones survive and the non-capable ones self-destruct.
for me.. a beer works...nothing else...i hate the taste of vodka ... its like some highly compressed homeopathic solution... i have tried 'Hercules' rum (soldiers use it escape cold) when i was a small kid. It was a gift from 1 of my relative (a gorkha soldier) to my dad.. it horrified me ...hehe : : in teenage i have tried blue imperial whisky too....it annoyed me....now i dont feel like boozing but i love beer, specially 'Thunderbolt' my college frnds are planning to booz me forcefully... lets see if i like it
