I am going to buy an electric guitar soon. I decided to go for Aria STG003. I know there is yamaha pacifica, but I can't stretch budget.

Now the next thing is to amplify sound. Instead of buying an amp, I am thinking of buying Zoom G1N processor and connect it to computer speakers, because It will give me many effects and rhythms to practice. If I need to perform, I think I can connect to an amplifier there (provided by those who do sound setup there).

Processor: Zoom Guitar Effect Pedal G1, Zoom musical instrument, Guitar Processor, effect p

Will this setup : Guitar -> Processor -> Speakers work?

I know I can't get any great sound for my total budget of 10K, so please don't suggest any high end amps.

    It will work, for now.
Can't say you'll have the best sound though, so you should plan to save up and buy an amp as you get better.

Why not get a stranger amp for 2-2.5k

    1. I haven't heard many good reviews about that amp on this forum.
    2. In future, when I upgrade, I can buy better amp.
    3. The processor comes with many "features" in the form of effects, patches etc. So obviously that is better than a simple amp. I like reverbs, delays.
    4. I have got good "Rock n Roll" speakers.
    5. I am not a professional guitarist. So whatever works & sounds atleast decent, I will go with it.

BTW, most computer speakers are woofers and tweeters, with no mid range - where all the guitar is... So an amp is not a bad option at all.

Remember, if it sounds good, you'll want to play more and get you will get better, faster...

You are getting an amp for 2.5k and now you want good reviews for that also... what you pay is wat you get... and it'll be a lot better than the computer speaker... anyways try out whatever you want ...
and what wylder said is very true.. i assume you understand what mid range is...

I think I need to try both options.

    :)

My thinking was that if both do not sound good, why not go for the option which has more features?

Hmm... That's something I should consider. Thanks.

i did that once...but without a processor...on my Creative 2.1 channel sound system..
    and got all shit...

yes the bass knob was helpful to make a thick & heavy bass..

u can go for it....but it may not be over satisfaction..

Get an amp which has effects in it. And go for a processor later on in the future..

Sound matters a lot. Computer speakers would sound horrible. And then the distortion on that would be way to harsh.. I have tried it myself on the Artis computer speakers..Amazing for Mp3 but pathetic for guitar out...

You can....But it will sound bad....G1 is not such a good processor....search for a 2nd Hand processor instead.....If a processor has a Preamp and Poweramp modeler in it then it will sound fantastic when connected directly to a monitor.....which unfortunately comes only in High end stuff like a Pod X3 / HD
