Dude you have one simple hammerhead freeware.
Then there is Beatcraft which is a paid software.

HammerHead is a simple TR-909-like drum computer program aiming at the dance-scene. You can use it to create perfect Techno loops, Jungle patterns or House beats, but it's also suitable for Hip Hop, Triphop, Rap, Industrial and almost any other music you can think of. HammerHead features six separate channels, 29 built-in drum sounds, six complete breakbeats and the possibility to import six samples of your own....

One of the best is obviously Cubase SX 3. So if you own this prog, you can arrange very professional sounding tracks at home. As far as i know, it comes with a few instruments including, drums, percussion etc. But its better to download some more instruments, VST-plugins called!
This prog and also lots of VST-plugins, you can download from almost all the torrentsites, so just search the internet!

    Get FL STUDIO

the best is FL Studio 9 XXL Producer Edition and not any p.u.s.s.y.

Its user friendly and comes with many VST's inbuilt

It's effect processor 'Hardcore' can easily replace ur 'Guitar Rig'
y've to use ASIO4ALL in audio settings. then choose ur input/output device in FL mixer and put hardcore in mixer...thats all

Is there any sequencer software that doesn't require you to use a MIDI keyboard to operate?

The thing I hate about most of these softwares is that they operate on MY computer, but they refuse to accept the signals from MY keyboard.
They want some godforsaken MIDI keyboard connected to some godforsaken port in the audio card!

Why the crap can't I use my PC keyboard as input to sequencer?

u mean any independent software keyboard?

    :-s

Let me give you a simple example.
You use FL studio/Cubase/Cakewalk/crapware - and either use a MIDI keyboard, record with VSTI, and get whichever instrument you wished to record, using your MIDI keyboard.

OR you may bring up the piano-roll and painstakingly create the same by clicking and dragging using mouse.

My question is WHY can't I use the PC keyboard instead of MIDI keyboard?
What is the big deal which prevents these softwares from interpreting the PC keyboard and converting to MIDI to utilize the VSTI!

    @alpha...oh now i got it....my bad :):):)

FL allows us to play using PC keystrokes
generally what i do in FL9 to record by playing directly:

    1) open desired VSTi...
    2) link that channel to a track of the mixer..
    3) open 'Edison' on that mixer track..
    4) select the option 'input'...(see attachment)...and press 'R' to start the recorder..(it wont record until u play)

    1.jpg

    5) select ur VSTi window/channel and start playing with PC keyboard. Edison will start recording..

cubase @ first (for recording and adding plugins)and

FL Studio are good (they have lots of instruments inside,)., (dont use FL studio to record, i personally wont prefer this., cubas eis good.)

record audio using Cubase and import the wav to fl studio.

Ezdrummer is a vsti, a good drum plugin for your style comes along with midi loops on different genres.,

alpha1! man u can use your PC keyboard as midi keyboard with FL Studio! as well as the latest Reason 5.,

any recommendation which version of FL studio?
I hate bloated software, that offers too many confusing choices.

u can use FL 10 for the latest features...but i still use FL 9...becuz FL10 has too much security with its premium plugins...however, its main engine can be cracked..

I use only pirated VST plugins and usually don't compose without Morphine, Poizon, Sakura etc (couldn't crack these VSTs on FL 10) :(:(:(

But it didn't come with VSTI or synth stuff

i dont use most of the FL 10's plugins, i always use 3rd party vsti's. mostly i use Albino, Ediroll Orchestrall and lots of soundfonts., some instruments of FL i use are Sytrus, Toxic, plucked, harmless., they are good :)

alpha1 cannot forget audition! that was the first stuff i used., it still reminds me the old software "cool edit" ;-)
