    Hi guys ,

I am from Chandigarh and i am going to Delhi tomorrow on Saturday 25 June , i have a budget of 25000 .

    i want a heavy distortion .

originally i was going for Roland cube 80xl which is costing me 23000 from Delhi . maybe little less.

is there any thing better than cube 80xl .? .

need your suggestions fast thanks guys .

PS:- can you please provide list of music shops in Delhi . it would be my first time to go there for AMP :) thanks

shops in delhi onstage in particular suck they dont take special orders
are you willing to buy online and increase approx 5000
my suggestion vypyr tube 60w(its a hybrid amp)
and it sounds wayyyyyyy better than the cube 80xl
if you buy the cube for metal you will end up regretting your decision in the long run but if you want professional soumding high gain metal amp look into peavey 6505+112 combo amp it is used by metal bamds like
    -bullet for my valentine
    -all that remains
    -as i lay dying
    -kse
    me
and all the major metalcore bands you can think of,it'l cost you 52000
btw here's a h.w for you google these before replyimg
    -what are solid state amps
    what are tube amps
    -what are hybrid amps
-why tube amps sound bettet than solid state amps
    -what is amp modeling

    the 6505+112 costs 52k
i use the 6505 head which costed me 48k and a 20k laney lv412a cab which sucks u'l be upgrading my cab ito an orange ppc212-cb which will set me back by another 40k in a year or so
ut since as you cant afford the head and cab seperately i suggested the combo
its upto you if you want a professional kickass amp get the 6505+112 combo and if you want a shit amps get others
if you can not afford the amp tour second option is peavey vypyr tube 60w nothing else
    save up save up
if you cant afford it now save up and buy it in a year or so

due to rain i was unable to visit delhi .. Due to bulky size of vypr 60 watt . and its fragile . so i cancelled buying it till i get 6505+112 combo .

    however

    1) i am getting a Vox vt 20 for 12000 in chandigarh :D and it sounds awsm (yes its a tube amp [hurray ] :D )

    2) my old marshall mg30dfx amp will be taken by a shop keeper for 8000 . and he will gimme a roland cube 80xl for 15000 more .

now i am confused? any ideas which one should i go for?

Sorry mate but I am not the right person to suggest either of the amp. Wait for reply from more experienced people here.
You can also look out for tube amp from this guy:
    BE3 Amplifiers - INDIA
I have some samples of how his amps sound. PM me your email and I'll send them across to you

who said that vypyr is fragile buy if if you want good tone
buy the vox vt20 if you want ahit tone
buy the cube 80xl if you want super duper shit tone
you can buy at peavey valveking 1x12 or a 2x12 but you wont be able to get brootz with it

and ya on a side note both vt20 and vypyr 60 are hybrid but vypyr is way superior ask this question on www.ultimate-guitar.com's guitar gear and accessories section if you want food advice

Just get a POD or a good quality processor and get a flat sounding keyboard amp (suitable wattage for you).

You will have more tones, more effects, more mobility than anyone else.
Plus you will have option to use any processor on that keyboard amp - and it will sound the same through PA system / mixer / monitors etc. (so that means your keyboard amp can sit at your house/jam room)

So no tweaking around when you are at the stage.

i disagree unless you are talking about the axe fx ii
and its best to run pods through an active monitor speaker not a keyboard amp

POD you mean , guitar interface?

i got m audio mkII and processor digitech rp90

oh and good news :D ima save for 6505+12 setup that you told me about :D ima get it in another 3 months

... and could you please shed light on exactly why?

POD / processors / sansamps etc all sound great when they are put in the effects loop of an amp.
    Why?
Because then - your processor signal directly goes into the power amp section. Which does not color the tone.

So the key thing is that an amp which doesn't color the tone. Preferably flat sounding.
Which is exactly what PA system / monitors / keyboard amps are.

Whatever change in tone that you could've had because of the amp speaker cabinet modifying the tone - is already done by your processor's inbuilt cabinet emulation circuitry.

Also do you disagree that "You will have more tones, more effects, more mobility than anyone else." when you use a processor?
    Again an elucidation is required.
