    You can learn about basics of buying a beginner guitar from here. It is one of the best guitar buying guide on the whole site.
    I would recommend you avoiding these Squier Strats or Ibanez grg series whenever possible.

    Another option: look for the same guitar in the used market. Use the extra cash to upgrade your guitar's pickup or get better amp or just save up for a better future guitar.
    Unlike electronics, a guitar does not get worn out in a year or two. But since there are not many second hand buyers in India, you could get these at a reasonably good price.

    @wylder
    Please gve me d approx prices of individual components.....
    and please suggest me the pedals of ur choice as i got no idea about them......
    also what is the need of compressor pedal and other Boss delay-DD20/DD-7
    and olso the preference between the two amps and their preffered wattage....
    Thanx

    You mean Paicifica, right? Constant use of Pacifier has left you with nothing but confusion.

    The Vypyr got enough effects on itself for a beginner. It would be best you can get with Yamaha Pacifica which will not cross your budget.

    DON'T, I repeat, DON'T even consider buying the Squier Bullet Strat ... I bought it myself about 4 months ago, but it had lots and lots of issues with it, starting with the usage of the whammy to the bridge and sound problems ... I managed to somehow to sell it to sm1 ... Rather buy a Yamaha Pacifica or a Squier Standard Telecaster, they'll be good beginner electrics and u'll not regret d choice ... And go for an amp like the Fender Mustang I or the Peavey Vypyr 15 W, they'll have plenty of effects inbuilt, so u can buy a pedal l8r on ... Peace :)

    He did? I didn't knew. I am new here. But I found that guide really well written so I thought it would be very helpful to any beginner. Although Ultarbot doesn't know much about individual instruments he named in there.

    Completely agree. Though a person bought one of the deluxe model of Squier Strat and he said it has got a good built-up and nice sound too.
