Hello everyone i am an acoustic guitar player and iam soo in love with the blues so i want to buy a new electric guitar.iam sick of acoustic blues, nothing comparable to an electric bend and vibrato. i have tried the esp in a shop it sounds cool but some reviews abt it say it is a metal guitar more than blues one ! and i heard this av3 is a gd one so what do u think? and any others brands suggestions ?

I'd suggest if you're looking for versatility, then u should go for the LTD EC-50, but if you're looking to stick with just blues and not much else, then the Greg Bennett AV-3 will perhaps be more suitable ... Don't go by reviews, just stick to your guns ... I will be buying LTD Viper 50 and contrary to opinion about it, ESP-LTD guitars have good cleans ... Ultimately, it's upto you ... Good luck and have fun :)

You can also get Yamaha Pacifica 112v by spending 2,500 more. I haven't compared the three of them but you can try them at the shop. Maybe it will sound better if you try it yourself.
What type of Blues do you actually hear to? I mean the player like B. B. King, Albert King, Eric Clapton, etc.

You need a tele or a starat for blues
good luck playing blues on a esp
and you need an amp too btw try to get a tube amp called peavey royal 8 its a tube amp,i bet you dont know what a tube amp is but tube amps are better you can get it for 7k

EC 50 is not that great. Agathis body to boot! Give it a miss.

At that budget go for a Greg Bennett Formula/Avion or Yamaha Pacifica.

greg bennett av3 is really a nice guitar. I play mostly blues, country and some hard rock songs...esp sure have better high end guitars but they suck at entry level guitars. I suggest you to try both guitars then you can spot the difference on your own. Ultimately the decision is yours :)

Yeah, the price is at which you're getting the EC-50 is right ... But if you're totally into blues and do not want to play other genres, I'd suggest go for the AV-3 ... Good luck and rock on :) ... Peace

@Dpnkr: I agree with you, but please don't make pre-formulated opinions about any brand as such ... You should try out yourself first and then give someone advice on it ... I have tried out a ESP-LTD Viper 50 and it sounds pretty good both in the clean and distortion sounds, so I'm just telling you it depends on each model and not in the brand ... Some are good, some aren't that good

today i tried the two guitar above and an ibanez sa-220 ,, u can say av3 beats them all in blues , it has a warm tone :) and the lp design is amazin ,, but the ibanez is versatile guitar ,, i didnt like the esp bending wasnt nice comparing to the others ,, so ryt now my budget says go to ibanez but my heart say go to blues (AV3) lool

The guitar that best cover your needs of Blues, Country and Classic Rock is a Telecaster. Telecaster are best known to be used by Country and Blues Bands like Lynyrd Skynyryd due to the Telecaster unique twangy sound that can't be driven from any other guitar. Eric Clapton also used Telecaster in his tenure with Cream and Jimmy Page also used it in his early Led Zeppelin career. But I don't know much about Jazz cause I am only into Rock and Blues. Don't forget to try out a Telecaster next time you visit the shop.

As for you previous post, 112v is the improved version of 112J. You can see the difference at Yamaha site itself. Main thing is that it is not only Beginner level guitar but also an intermediate level guitar. Moreover it can live playing too.

yeah i saw alot of videos played by a tele in youtube , isnt it expensive? fenders mexican's models are quite expensive here , and those chinese ones sucks! i like the tele design but my budget can only buy me the mentioned guitars :S

Maybe you are mistaking them with Squier Strats. But the lower model i.e. Squier Teles are great beginner guitar. But unlike them Squier Strats sucks.
About the price, I would say try out the Affinity series Tele first and you might just like it. You can also try Squier Standard Tele and if really know what you are looking for, you will most likely find it suitable. But in case you want to go for long term play then you can Squier Tele Classic Vibe 50s which is a cheap guitar outside of India but in India it costs somewhere around 28,000 which is quite close to Mexican Teles. The CV 50s is better than the Mexican Teles but is hard to find. So go try every type of Squier Teles(don't go for another brand that endorse their own teles) and most likely you will fall into love with one of them. Always go for sound and not for looks.

greg bennett RL series will give you blues & jazz. But will fall behind when it comes to classic rock. You can.t have something that does everything. Or just get the av3 and turn the tone knob all the way down. You'll have to fiddle with the settings to get a good jazz tone.

tune-o-matic bridge of av3 is better than sa220's tremolo one but 220 is also a good versatile guitar if you can upgrade it to a better floyd rose bridge

Jazz music has its own guitars like Fender Jazzmaster. Instead of keep changing the tuning from time to time to get the Jazz tone it would be better if he can get three tone(blues, classic and country) from a single guitar. Just like you said, you can't have something that does everything. I proposed the best idea that can at least cover three types of his favored music.

yeah exactly i agree with u ,, ryt know iam focusing in blues and i want to start playing country ,, after researching and one of the members opinion i found that a telecaster match all these genres ,, so iam gonna check this affinity telecaster then i guess i am gonna find a decision ,, wish me luck guys and thank you :)

    alpha1 I BLUES!

Pick up any guitar and build YOUR style over it.
That's what makes it blues or rock or jazz or metal sounding.

You know that you can play all those genres on acoustic guitar also ...

For Guitar - take one which feels best on your hands and fingers.
And the ones that sounds great to your ears naturally (= unplugged, and plugged into clean amp).

For getting the actual blues jazz metal etc suitable tones you have various pedals and processors and amplifiers.
