and there's no sticky thread to help newbie's with buying guitar... Both for Electric and Acoustic.. Which is the most asked question here at IGT...

@Rickky - I have no idea either, since I was away from forum for a real long time, and also the previous management had their own points, which is definitely right according to them and I'd not debate about.

However, I agree with your point that a lot of most asked questions should be answered in FAQ and sticky should be those threads, which need immediate attention. This will be resolved in the next couple of weeks, as I said a lot of changes will be rolled in, but rolling them all at once is not advisable ..

Mean while did you check this thread : https://indianguitartabs.com/showthread.php?p=425616

    Cheers :)

Previous stickies were based on arbitrary decision made by moderators who themselves couldn't play even DDLJ tune.

    The results are expected.

I think based on the points(IGT Plaza) people earned, they made threads sticky..mutual exchange.. you make my thread sticky and i'll make yours..

    Which ads? Where?
In fact having small discrete ads might be good, it may allow you to increase the bandwidth of the forum - and thus allow embedding of videos etc.

@Avin - Right now we are running less ads. I think you are talking about inlink ads, which should not affect regular guys who log in almost everyday, coz they know which one's are adverts and which are not.

A solution to this is might well be to offer premium membership for those who want to get rid of ads. Low cost premium will get rid of ads and give premium services too...

We do need to keep the ads running, as they help us maintain day-to-day expenses. A highly popular forum like IGT consumes a lot of bandwidth :( and hence the overhead costs. And to add to it, yearly software licenses cost quite a bit :).

@Alpha n Rick - The rationale for having those sticky threads as stickies is not rationale according the new management ... We strongly believe stickies are those that should guide people in building better community and not for updating individuals 'status'. So it'll definitely be taken care of :)

@ Alpha - You are right, adverts help us make IGT a better community. Embedding videos is a real cool feature, and I'm sure a lot of guys who record their work would want to get feed back. Provisions will be made soon ...

Heck, another grip I have about is this "Similar Thread" if you scroll down the page.
Out of 5 => only 3 seem to be relevant.

Eeks, it just occurred to me that you may be Lord_neo in a new avatar!
The ownership changed hands during the "great decline" period of IGT.
(I don't think that it was really a great decline - just that forum regulars, and their forum activity decreased)

And now the ownership is back with the previous ppl.
    That should mean Neo.

@Alpha - if you were to trust me - I'm definitely not Neo or so called Lord_Neo.

I've personally not interacted with Neo, never got a chance actually ...

In fact I'm trying to validate if the reasons given to me on why some of the old regular users were banned was true. So far, after having heard about from two guys, the previous management seems to have been very strict on issues :) ..

That's all I'd like to say in my defense :)
