    A little late, while looking for guitars earlier I enquired about the ME 50 and the guy told me it was discontinued... Was he just lying or is it true? If so, what might be another processor in the same or cheaper price range which is a menu-free device?

    Damn... Know any other menu-less processors, Rickkky?

    I don have idea bout menuless processors
    I think ME-50 might still be available at some shops...try out..
    ...but there's hardly any difference in the pricing of ME-50 and ME-70.. and 70 will definitely be better..

    Mine is menu-less...wait, what do ye mean by menu-less?

    On mine you press a 'Select' button to scroll through all the EQs. I find it to be a lot easier to figure out than my friend's Zoom G2.1u.

    Did I mention I was selling mine?
    (a little discount if GuitarDoctor buys it xD)

    @Ultra: The ME 50 is used more like a collection of pedals than a processor (tone aside). Each effect has dedicated knobs and dials assigned to it... Very easy to use, all effects instantly accessible with no menus or panels or anything to navigate. That's what I want out of my effects unit... I guess I need to wait around for a used ME 50/70 to surface.
    Is BOSS the only company to think of this? No comparable Zooms/Digitechs/???

    Older korgs can be used in that manner. AX1500 is one of the most easiest ones to use. But that kind of defeats the purpose of the processor -- the ability to fine tune the parameters. If you wanted menuless editing, you could get an amp like the vyper.

    Why not just get pedals and make/buy a pedalboard? o_O

    Because...

    1. I am really inexperienced when it comes to effects and I don't know which effects I'll ultimately want to own on a long term basis. The purpose of buying a cheap and easy to use proc is to get acquainted to routine use of common effects in my music. My plan is: Buy a proc to use for about a year until I am used to all effects I like -> Buy a good amp -> Sell proc, buy pedals as per needs.
    2. CHEAPER!!! ;)

    Do you mean this? https://www.namm.org/thenammshow/2011

    Wrong forum, man... This is Indian Guitar Tabs... ;) I don't think I will be able to make it to USA to pick up a processor...

    A welcome change. XD

    @guitardoctor - Get my processor then...it's enough to let you learn. Has just about everything I think there is. Plus you'll give me some much needed cash :p

    I would, but I think I'll wait around some time (month or so) searching/waiting for a used ME 50... Was really hoping for a menu-free proc, because I know my brain. If an effect takes several "clicks" etc to modify, I'll just start ignoring it thereafter. Hence was interested in a menu-free proc. If I can't find any, I'll check out yours...

    But first I gotta find some time to buy my damn guitar first. Curse my job!!

    Guitar -> cable -> amp.

    I set a new standard and say...the effects are in the fingers. XD

    Doctawrr - PM me if and when ye wanna buy it.

    old standard is old.... jeff beck, stanley clarke, ryan martinie just to name a few....

    also, i'd love to see you get self-oscillating fuzz from your fingers :p

    Never heard/tried self-oscillating fuzz (and fuzz is a tone-kind thing. I meant the 'effects' effects xD), but I can create delay/echo, can do the job of a looper (LOLROFL), can do tremolo, and any jack can do volume swells with a guitar (...though I advocate volume pedals and one of those, with a whammy, wah, verb and maybe comp, will one day be part of my (frugal) chain).

    Anyway, nuff joking around already, orf to practice. ^^

    is boss me 70 the best proc in its price range??...i hav a frnd coming frm us n m planning to get one for $300...as far as pedals r concerned i dunno wich ones to get...dunno wich brand is better for a particular effect..dn even know wat all effects i want...
    is there a lot of difference between the tones of such a good proc n individual pedals?

    ne odr suggestions?
    i play metallica, greenday, LOG etc

    @guitardoctor,

    Save up and get individual pedals, and as of now, if you don't already own any, you may want to start with a decent distortion and a delay pedal (This will serve as echo, reverb as well) if you tweak it well.
