    hi guys!!!

earlier i told u people that my budget was 20000..........
bit the good news is that i have got it extended to 35k .............. HURRAYYYY!!!!.........

    ok enough of celebration ...........

    now to the point

    1) i m planning to stick to av3 as m willing to spend my rest of 20k on amp ( tell me if shud substitute my guitar with this new budget)

    2) some of ur bright ideas on amp

i have been reading some of the post lately & came to a conclusion that most of u have suggested to go with tube amps but i m a bit worried about their maintenance .... i mean .... the tubes have to be changed regularly and they should be treated with extra care,, every two or three years they come up with some problems......and so on

    are they really so fragile

man this amp thing is now taking on my nerve

    i need some serious suggestions

(soon i will be posting some amps that i will try to sort out my self after i get some help)

    regards

If you want to live without ever learning how much more you would've learned just by discovering how tube amps work with the guitar, then sure go ahead. And no, 20 years from now if you finally decide to invest in one, you will not be able to go back in time and change anything.

They are not fragile to the extent you're making them out to be. They have working parts that tend to wear out with constant use. Just like your car tyres.

Dude if i were you i would invest more on the guitar probably av6 or rg321.i would then buy a laney 35W amp(which has just distortion and overdrive) and then buy BOSS ME20 or ME-25.

so that would be approx 23+8+11=42k ooops..maybe i would have bought the processor later.

Title - I thought you got laid. :RollLol:

This guy ought to be banned.

Only the tube amp's output (power) tubes need to be replaced. RESEARCH. BEFORE. YOU. BUY. (YOU. ASS.)

Good place to start -> https://indianguitartabs.com/showthread.php?p=417766#post417766
Another good place to start for tube amps, for idiots like you -> the FAQ on BE3's website

BALLS! fragile my ass. i have an amp in original condition from the 60s (built in italy, exported to germany, packaged and sent via freight to india) that worked flawlessly until 2 years ago. all original components except for the tubes, of course.

why is it not working now? it probably is, i just took it apart to make some modifications and am probably going to recycle some parts to convert it into an AC30 (cause i love AC30s to death and want to own a handwired one now).

in 2004, i bought a telefunken tube radio from 1954 at a flea market simply cause it looked so ***y - i took a peek inside, and guess what - the tubes hadn't been changed since it left the factory, or somebody had changed them sometime in the 60s. either way, a circuit 50 years old with tubes that had at the very minimum 40 years of service behind them - worked with a light hum as was to be expected from capacitors 50 years old, but sounded absolutely fantastic otherwise. it was quieter than most kustom amps i've heard.

there are only three things to really remember:
    1. NEVER TURN ON AN AMP WITHOUT A SPEAKER CONNECTED TO IT.
    2. it helps to put the amp on standby for about 5 minutes before you turn it on fully. practically all amps, except for some smaller ones come with a standby switch for this purpose. the logic behind it is that it helps tube life by allowing the tubes to warm up to the point of getting the electrons flowing freely from the cathode to the anode.
    3. it would be prudent to have good earthing in your house/room.

as for tube changes, it really depends on how much you put the tubes to task, how they've been biased (e.g. a lot of manufacturers like to bias the tubes "cold" on cheaper entry level amps, which leaves the amps sounding a bit sterile but increases tube life a bit - it's basically a cost-saving scheme for them cause there's less likelihood of service issues. some of these amps, i'm told, really bloom when people run them a bit hotter). i would expect the average power tube to have a life of about 1000 hours conservatively, although practically it may be more.

basically, i converted from the first time i played a tube amp - i just couldn't go back to solid state and digital. something was just missing... the response and interaction was dead. i'm sure digital will be able to get 99.99% of the tube sound at some point... but i'm estimating another 10-15 years till that happens.

if i had your budget i would be going for tube for sure.

Apparently these guys can make your solid state sound like a tube amp NOW-

    ...and i'm REALLY convinced. :-/

they seem to be doing some good stuff with signal routing and management systems though. the controller is neat, throw in MIDI support and you'd have a winner.

the descriptions are criminally lacking in substance though - there are NO ideas left to be stolen in the guitar electronics world. really.

do we always need to connect a speaker or its a condition with the heads only...... for eg i dont think that laney lv200 will require a external speaker (correct me if i m wrong flood)

what do u say about laney lv200, Vox Valvetronix AD30VT & Vox Valvetronix VT50 50W.

any guidelines frm u guys will be helpful............

    As a matter of fact
-That 'laid' bit was an edit, the last thing I added to that post. Twas simply an afterthought.
-I gave you two links to start off. It was pretty much constructive.
-Ideally you should've researched before coming here. Your last post in this thread is the only one that has some decent, valid (IMO) questions - the sort you ask after you've done your bit and only your experience with the thing is lacking, which you can't blame anyone for - before that post, it seems all you wanted was some answers to be spoon fed to you. Hence I called you what I did.

those amps are not tube amps in the conventional sense. completely different topology. no tube amp should ever be run without a speaker attached unless there is a sort of failsafe (which is very rare). a combo is basically a head with a speaker built into the same chassis. it's not complicated.

EDIT: also, get yourself a sense of humour. this is the internet. deal with it.

As for that, I already gave you your answers (or atleast, links to info which lets you deduce them for yourself).

I'm gonna have to lead you along with your pinky finger now.
From here (The Guide), we go to this link. Read that page. Now how hard was that?

    (...what an ass.)
