    Hi all,

myself living in Bangalore, new to indianguitartabs and excited.

I have been playing acoustic (Yamaha F210) from past 2yrs. Planning to go for an Electric guitar. I am looking to buy Yamaha Pac112v ( about 22500/- Yamaha Music Square)( liked the HSS setup {H=alnicoV},Rosewood Fingerboard,Vintage Tremolo with Block Saddles, coil tap to split Humbucker to single coil, and Roland Cube 20X (9000/- Reynolds)

And i have following queries :

    1. Any alternate guitars in this price range. Suggestions please…….
    2. Can I connect my acoustic guitar to Roland Cube 20X through soundhole pickup?
    3. Any other stores in Bangalore were i can get gears for lower price?

Also interested in Yamaha PAC112J is 15,000/-. Dose the the difference of 7500/- is worth for Alnico V pickup and coil tap.

    Thanks.

    1. No. You've made a good choice, stick with it.
    2. Yes. But don't switch on distortion. It'll sound like your wife, a few years into marriage.
    3. 2 wheeler gears? Try Onstage (if there's one), Soundglitz, etc.

The Cube20X sounds a little high priced. Also look at Laneys in the same range.

How about you see what features they have, then RESEARCH what those features mean, and THEN decide for yourself?

    Period, ultrabot90?

Alder vs agathis body, alnico vs ceramic pickups, better electronics perhaps. It's worth it.

Man, Yamaha website sucks, absolutely no info about their guitars. Pacifica is such an old and respected brand too. Even the US website doesn't work right.

Pac112J: The US website says it is made of Alder but the Indian website is less clear. Might be Agathis OR Alder here in India - the website says both ( https://tinyurl.com/36oderk and https://tinyurl.com/32egbl8 )

Pac112V: Not mentioned in Indian website, US\UK specs: https://tinyurl.com/36ga9fg

@hundredth: Alnico pickups are > Ceramic ones? Some info plz...

Et tu Brute? You need to read The Guide too.

They're not better than ceramic per se. Ceramic pups are usually hotter, and have a slightly different sound (described as anything from bright to sterile). Depends on your preference. A good pup is a good pup, alnico V or ceramic.

    alde or agathis

    Thats true,

The Yamaha India website is not clear. It says both alder and agathis for pac112j.I had been to Yamaha music square (indira Nagar) and found out that it comes with alder body.

Anyways, bought Roland Cube 20x for 9000/- from soundglitz brigade road, and i have decided to wait for 2 more months for my guitar as my brother is going to US. Yamaha PAC 112v is only $300 there(Appx 14000/-). Its cheaper than going for pac112j here in India.

    Thanks....

^ In case you're getting it from US..also consider that you might have to buy a hard shell case which costs some 100$..Most airlines these days don't allow guitar to be hand carried due to some size restrictions(some airlines may)..

Note: You can carry a musical instrument instead of a piece of hand baggage if it fits in the overhead baggage compartment or under your seat.
