    With this.

    Sorry if it's old/already known.

There was a guy on the projectguitar forum who made really nice looking ergonomic guitars. That website doesn't work for me anymore, sadly.

I remember Teuffel (the website and the guitars make too big an impact to forget x-P)

What I really like about the Klein is that it's a very well designed body - headless design so the weight is removed from the neck, preventing neck dive; upper bout is higher so you can comfortably rest your right arm while playing seated; the curve on the bottom is so that it sits easily on the lap; lower bout is longer so the neck automatically goes up in the ideal diagonal direction.

It's not the first or the last guitar with the individual features, but together...it's a friggin' design masterpiece.

I'm thinking of getting a guitar like this made from Krappy. Design modified a little so that I can play it (seated) both vertically (for touchstyle) and diagonally (for classical technique).

i'm quite sure uli teuffel derived inspiration from klein, particularly for the tesla. interesting also to note that a noted klein user - david torn - is also a noted teuffel user. and no. 3 on my favorite guitarists of all time list (with gilmour and fripp taking spots 1 and 2).

hah. wait till you play one. i've made it my life's ambition to buy a tesla (they start at €5.5k) some day and am definitely chasing the tone on my next guitar (strat with 3 p90s and possibly a larger neck pocket). i can't get it out of my head. never played a guitar even remotely like that, and i probably never will.

Have a look at that Canton I posted. Holdsworth has his customs built from him now..pricing is also much saner (around $2500).

I've only played a Steinberger. It's a little fiddly, because the tuners are a little closer together. On the plus side, the Steiny I played for a week had to be tuned only once (the best trem I've ever used).
I don't like Rick Toone at all.. I don't think he's really a luthier, more of a finicky woodworker. Ola Strandberg does much better work imho.
Also check out Chris Forshage..the closest designs to a Klein that I've seen. There's a great Klein thread over at TGP btw..check it out.
