    Hello Guys

This is an original composition from me.
    https://www.reverbnation.com/thedemonicspirits
Take a few minutes and listen to it.

Your suggestions and feedback are very important for me.

(apologies for posting in the wrong forum.. deliberately done :))

    The mix:
    1. Sounds like it was recorded in your bathroom. Lay off the reverb.
    2. Your guitars sound lifeless. Bring them a little more in front of the mix.
    3. I don't hear a bass guitar? If this is the case, you might want to put one in there, the lower end of your mix is hollow.

    The song:
    1. I don't know what you're going for with the vocals.
    2. The song structure is pretty bland for a metal song. No breakdown/bridge/solo. JMO.
    3. Again, bass?

Thanks for listening and your expert opinion buddy...
i intentionally put the guitars like that as i'm a very very bad guitarist so in a way i was hiding :p..
and i have no idea bout bass guitar.. need to work on that.. i dont have bass guitar yet.. but i think i can use the regular guitar as bass.. will take some time..

Since its just a single piece band.. There are many flaws.. Will try to be better next time..

I had no idea it would be that unbearable. Or maybe just me.

Is that all you have to say.. Thats very disheartening ...

Not meaning to offend, but that's kind of like the same question I had in mind for you.
"Is that all you had to say (through the song, content and presentation-wise)?"
It's kind of disheartening when the more promising people come up with stuff like that...but you're learning, we all are.
(I wonder if I should put up my rough MP3-player-mic recordings of my playing to make you feel better :p)

IMO - Bottomline, the track was obnoxious. Work at it.
TBH the content is decent (I mean I can call it metal. I'm not into metal, so can't say if it's 'good' metal). Just work on the mix.

Besides, my opinion isn't law - and is in fact quite the opposite of the mainstream, so idk, a lot of people might like it.

Edit - Try some synthesis VST for bass. F20 people will know, and search around the net too.

dude, music is about being disheartened. whether you're rickkkyrich or metallica or john mclaughlin for that matter, if you can't live with people telling you your music/album/song sucks then don't put up music for them to hear.

you need to learn to handle it or don't ask for a frank opinion. you have to remember that people's expectations are high, and either your standards need to be much higher or you need to be totally thick skinned about it.

i thought the song was weird at best. definitely not metal. more like weird german industrial.

an example: when DR started out, they were so unbearably bad that their set at any concert collected more thrown objects than all other acts put together. the only thing that really saw them through was sahil's never-say-die attitude. i'm still not a fan of their music, but admire his drive and the ability to remain completely unfazed.

anyway, the world is not going to be kind to your music, and the internet will be brutal on you. so be very sure about what you put up if you don't like brickbats. i learned the hard way. just my 2 cents.

This thread is about as warm as a drunk man's piss soaked pants. Tell him what you don't like about this track, be as specific as possible.

@rickkkyrich: There are 2 kinds of criticism you could be looking for. Either your track is unfinished and you want to know what you can possibly change to improve it, or you feel the track is finished and just want to know what people think about it. Either way, if it's "disheartening", you've gotta live with it. Just decide beforehand whether you're actually going to modify the song or not, learn to suppress knee-jerk reactions to criticism.

    "killing time" is good...
n on the first metal song vocal's need to be more thick
    keep rockin >.<

It was fine for a beginner. I couldn't do better, although that isn't saying much... It's a notch down from 'killing time', maybe that's why you got this reaction from everyone... That stuff was way better, hence the reaction to a perceived fall in quality.
Anyway it takes talent to create your own music and balls to put it up for criticism and review, so keep at it man...

    My 2 cents..
U need 2 darkened your voice if you are into metal (you know what i mean)....and
it seems like you are singin from your neck....try to sing through your chest..and try not to use face muscles while singin high notes or growlin....

also, try to find the natural range of your voice and train to become louder. singing well isn't easy at all.

and be careful with guttural vocals in general - they aren't good for your throat if you haven't practiced. don't go all-brutal from the start - i think you have a fairly decent lower-midrange clean singing voice, probably good for about 2 octaves and would first concentrate increasing power while singing clean. my 2 cents.

    ^+1

And may I mention that growled vocals WILL destroy your voice, and correct technique will only slow down the damage, not stop it?

Aside - Take classical (operatic/choral) vocal singing. Start off the symphonic metal trend in India :RollLol:

Agreed to both Flood and Ultra.
I'm neither a trained vocalist nor a guitarist. Whatever i know i learned on the internet.
That's the reason for my n00bishness which you guys pointed out.
i need a lot more practice and shud give more time in making things as perfect as possible.

Thanks guys for your time and suggestions. you're always welcome.
