I want to buy a guitar. I have done a lot of searching in different websites and believe me I am not satisfied but annoyed with the reviews of people here or there.

I went to one website and found that people are appreciating one guitar. Then I visited another site and there people are commenting that the same guitar is good for beginners. Every tom dick harry is saying "this guitar is good for beginners, that guitar is good for beginners"

Yes I am a beginner but I can afford to buy only one guitar of one type.. i.e. if I buy an acoustic guitar I would buy only one and if I buy an electric guitar, I would buy only one that I would use for the rest of my life (if it remains serviceable)

My budget is upto Rs.10000 and I want to buy an acoustic guitar which is not for beginners but for advanced players as it would be the only one that I would buy in my whole life.

Please suggest me that kind of guitar which other people won't call "a beginners guitar"

Warning :: Please don't make any silly comments as I would report it to the admin as I am asking for help, so spam would be reported.

I wonder who will help you when you start off with such hostility, my friend.

A guitar you "plan to use for the rest of your life" should cost more than 10k... Every guy who starts learning guitar starts on the best he can afford, then upgrades as he gets better. That's like saying you want to buy a car for 1 lakh, want it to be a head-turning convertible, and want it to last the rest of your life. 1 lakh will buy you a nano, and you can stretch it to the rest of your life if you want to, but you will always be "that weird guy who's been driving a Nano for 20 years".

Addendum: If you're a beginner, any guitar you buy will be a "beginner's guitar" because you'll sound like crap no matter how expensive the guitar is.

but do you really think that your comments helped me in choosing a guitar :-(

and I did mention "No silly comments please"... but you typed all the bullshit... its like there's a notice on one side of a bench which reads "This Bench is Freshly painted. Do not sit." and the man touches the bench to see if its really painted or not... :p

I asked which kind of guitar wouldn't be called a beginners guitar... any example... and I could keep that guitar with me for long if not for life...

and the hostility you talked about... if you visit other threads you would see that there are morons who would make silly comments instead of helping.. that's bad for a forum like this... the admin should be intolerant to this attitude of users...

I'm not here to help you in the first place, mate... Do you think I'm getting paid to help you or something? This is not a customer care, for God's sake. You're asking for help for free from a complete stranger whom you don't even know... A little manners won't be amiss.

Search the damn internet and look for your Nano yourself. I'm out.

Lol... Stupid clueless cunt... A guy like this will miss everything cool in life and die lonely and angry. Just a burning hostility towards anything that won't provide instant gratification.

    @OP
There's something called evolution and dissatisfaction.

The first amp I bought, I bought in extreme haste and in minimum cost. After a year of practicing guitar on it every day, I managed to gradually get a somewhat deeper understanding of its sound and realized there was something unfavorable (actually, it was a Marshall MG10CD and EVERYTHING ABOUT IT WAS UNFAVORABLE except that it worked. It sounded dead and sterile, and I've heard these words in a lot of reviews but I never really understood the depth of the problem till I heard it for all the time I practiced.)

I need to know what kind of a player are you. Showoff, hobbyist or pro-to-be (henceforth referred to as 'serious')?
    1. For the first two, your expectations can be met. Buy anything, any darn thing you'd like, and you're fine.
    2. If you want to perform, SERIOUSLY perform, and earn a living from it, I'd suggest you do #1 anyway and come back here in a year (or 6 months, or hell even 7 days could be fine to realize what I'm talking about). OR you can go to the guitar gear forum and do a little bit of reading, reading and more reading.

(generally I give more obvious answers to people, but this is a special case)

And these two guys you just fired off are the most helpful people here, and are actually quite nice and knowledgeable when not met with the social-civility equivalent of the Columbine high school massacre. I wonder what you'll say to flood if you chance upon him.

    EDIT
ALSO, you want to buy a great setup right off?
Go to the store. Try out a guitar worth 20k through the MOST EXPENSIVE TUBE AMP THEY HAVE, then try out a THE MOST EXPENSIVE GUITAR THEY HAVE. Hear the staff playing if you don't know how to play.

Can your ears tell the difference?
If you played it, can you tell which one feels better?

    No.

Reason - Ear's not trained enough. (happens to an extent with me too, but I've crawled forward a little. My tone ear is not the greatest but not the worst either.)
(And this will apply to anything and everything - cars, food, art (let me hand you a box of Winsor and Newton acrylic paints or Van Gogh soft pastels to start with, you'll surely make masterpieces...ha. ha. ha.), whatEVER.)

It's not a bad idea to start with good gear, to not be too stingy on your investment, but to expect it'll last you a lifetime if you're serious about playing...well, buy, play, get more experienced and you'll know, no need to take our word on it.

@Ultra: What's the point? All he hears is "Blah Blah Blah"... This guy just wants you to name a guitar which'll fool people into thinking he's not a noob, and use it for the rest of his life. As an ornament in his home, perhaps.

Doc...ever seen tha' great film called Ratatouille?
    "ANYONE CAN COOK"
(substitute 'cook' for 'do something' - art, guitar, sports, blah blah.)

    It's just fair :|
