Hello guys i am planning to buy a mic for my home recording purpose only. Earlier i was planning to buy a shure sm58 but now its outta budget for me (as i am getting an interface now) so instead i am going for a less costlier option. Any idea bout which mic shud i opt for? Budget would be around 2-3k
You can try a mic made for Karaoke purposes, there are some good mics in this section, just visit a wellknown music center in your neighbourhood and they will advise you. I personally don't own a professional mic and all my recording are made using a cheap karaoke mic. Ofcourse a quality mic is much better, but for home recordings it will do the works you want to be done!
No i can't cause i don't live in Indian so i don't know what models are being sold there. Thats why i said, just visit a wellknown music store and they will be able to tell you more about a good karaoke mic! But once again, a quality mic is ofcourse always the better choice!!!
good idea. believe me, saving up and investing in quality equipment always pays off. lesson learned the hard way.
MY Room Mic I have a AHUJA UTP 130, Electret Condenser Unidirectional Microphone - with Cardioids characteristics, 4.5 shielded noise cable. Its small, handy, I use it for my room recordings. It's a collar mic.
i was talking about myself did all sorts of stupid tricks and bought subquality microphones while living abroad. the results were, well, horrible. a shure SM57 (or SM58 for that matter) is long lasting, probably a lifetime investment actually as long as you don't drop it headfirst or damage the element, and is pretty cheap as far as quality microphones go. i don't know why i fought it for so long... that ahuja mic looks like a broadcast/voiceover mic.
Voice Processors """That ahuja mic looks like a broadcast/voiceover mic""" :RollLol: Ya, flood I know, I am too planning for a good mic... So got into this thread. Do you guys have any idea about VOICE PROCESSORS ???? Im looking out for one in India...
An Ahuja mic is actually really good. I've used one I got for like 700 rupees and it sounded good. I used it for vocal and rum recording.
Ya, actually I just purchased it... Without any idea, but came out to be good, just one problem... while recording you have to be far away from it a bit or it gives out high pitched peaks in he recs!
dude its a Shure SM58.. you just cant question its working.. its the best vocal mic available. Its good for home recording as well as live performances. aweFsome it is..
