pacifica. squiers are not too good, and the GRGs are horrible.

where the hell did you see that? are you talking about *the* fEnder stRatocaster? Made in USA?

if yes, you are gravely misinformed. for 6k a piece, i'll buy 10 right now :D

edit: if you're talking about SQUIER by fender, those are made in china too and the quality is very very inconsistent.

@rr: the GRG has notorious stability issues.

    I dont agree

GRG 170dx is an awesome guitar for a beginner at this price

I own one and it is kickass.......

the only problem it may give is the tremelo but my guitar doesnt get as much off the way it is described on many forums....and gives a very good sound.....

Play all and get whichever one you are comfortable with. All three are about the same in quality. I dont know if the ibanez is the one with the floyd rose. If it is, i advice you to stay away from them. Just but one with the regular tremolo. Odds are you may never want a tremolo and you can know if you do if and when you start using the regular more non distressing tremolo.

my point exactly. no point getting yourself a guitar - ESPECIALLY as a beginner who hasn't developed his intonation properly - that can't stay in tune.

all the G-series ibanez guitars i've played so far (some of them new at the store!) were plagued with this problem, and unfortunately, so is my RG (that's an exception though, most RGs are pretty decent guitars).

from the three, i think the PACs i've played were extremely consistent and gave me the best bang for the buck. squier is a hit and miss affair; i think their teles are pretty decent, but the strats are a bit iffy.

My GRG doesnt give much problems..... you need to check while buying.....

and plus I really like the shark-tooth inlay it has..... i know it is totally a noob point.... but still shark-tooth inlays cheer a metalhead(beginner)

Subha's probably talking about some fake copy... Notice it's fAnder not fender and samic not samick in his post.

Anchit: All three guitars you mentioned are decent. I personally feel the Pacifica and Squier California are both pretty decent guitars if you're looking for a strat. Didn't much enjoy the grg170 but then again it's just my opinion. Get to a store and try them all out. Also look at Greg Bennett AV1.

    Hi Dude,

I own an Ibanez GRG170DX and lemme tell you, I love it. Except for the Tremolo (Which I dont use much anyways), I love it. Its got a great sound and the 5 way switch gives you considerably different "tones"...

One more important thing to consider is the AMP.

Ok kinda Guitar+ Neat Amp = Real Good Sound

Neat Guitar+ Ok kinda Amp= Not so good sound....

This is my opinion and someone else may have a different one......

I connected my guitar to a Marshall Amp, a Line 6 Spider Amp and couple others and each time, my guitar sounded quite different.....
If you have heard a song called "Fade To Black" from Metallica, when I connected my guitar to the Line 6 Spider and my friend (Who owns the amp) did some changes to the settings, it sound almost exactly like the real one....I mean atleast the opening chord sequence....

So consider that fact too dude.

IMHO GRG170DX is a good buy for a beginner....

I had also checked out a GRG270DX but it was about 20K or something...way outta my budget.... :(

again....if you buy an ibanez....thats the biggest mistake you will ever make in your life..
The Bridge ( Edge Zero ) Is Horrible...Its made up of tin foil
better go with a yamaha...its really good...and it never fails you...
squiers are good too....but yamaha's are better :D

Ps: Ibanez Aren't to comfortable while playing chords...and if your a beginner...buy the yamaha...and also..it has a humbucker bridge..which doesnt mess up the tuning...

    Ibanez= Shit=Mess= Dont buy= Money Saved

i havent tried any of the above guitars , but i can tell you one thing from my experience ... if your a noob , go for a fixed bridge or something close to it . it will save you a lot of trouble coz if you have a floating bridge, things get pretty complicated and setting it up yourself is a total gmd.
