it'll be better if u go to a shop and try all of them out..

Among those 3, the Floor POD is the best.

You might also consider one of the Boss ME processors.

@ultrabot: dats just personal opinion man...
    I find line 6 better...
newys, u r an analog fan, how does it matter to u?

I've been recommended Line6 a lot. And Boss is played by lots of pros (Opeth, for instance =P). Cant really judge, cos all I got is just me old Digitech. Works out for me fine (except for a wah with pathetic sweep). Aint got no cash for analogs, but someday...

The Ibanez is great, everything I could ask for at this stage, including a great deal (21k @_@). As of now I'm learning my first song ("Constant Motion" Dream Theater. Shock, horror.), and tinkering with tone and FX...video, maybe in a month or so xD

I am in the same dilema mate. But it might matter on the type of music you play. From the research I did, i made the following observations :- (it seems I am writting a report but the hell, hope it helps)

1.you can get better sounds from the G2.1u than the RP90
2.the POD plus doesn't match upto its beasty successors namely the XT and X3. Not good for high gain settings, and sounds not as good either.
3.the ME series is sounds good but requires tweaking. Besides the ME-70 has a preamp setting (considering that one)- can sustain to high gain but no footswitch to change banks :(
4.the Korg AX3000g has loads of effects and is cheap. got the worthless ESS thing which I can't imagine using it EVER if I get one.

I suggest you go check them out like I will pretty soon.

is the me-20 any good and i am not buying rp 90 so it is just
floor pod vs g2.1u vs me-20

dude, the floor POD is pretty decent i would say and line6 IS better than the zoom.
What i observed is that the lower end line6 doesn't give as much flexibility as the boss counterpart.
If your not into too much tweaking to get your sound right, i say go for the Floor POD
else, Boss products are quite good too.

Zoom, Line 6 and Digitech all make some fine products but you have to think what you really need. Is it just for playing at home, gigs or recording, do you need different outputs or an FX loop etc. I think the three products you mention each have there own sound really. If I was you I,d buy something second hand and when you are familiar with programming your own sounds (the factory presets in all these products are useless) look for something new ........ but new dosen,t mean its better !!!

Just remember when trying them out in a shop don,t be to impressed with the effects as they are the iceing on the cake the meat and potatoes are the preamps. If you can,t get a decent guitar sound with the preamp it will never sound good even with studio effects on it.

    Good luck,

so tonezappa you tell that i should pick up 2nd hand rite?

Thats right...... I have many old ones that in some ways are better than the new models. I would learn how to program a multi effects unit before getting a really good one. I have a Roland GP8, BOSS GT-5, GT-8 and SE-70, Yamaha FX 770, Yamaha Magic Stomp, DigiTech RP350 and Line 6 pocket Pod and they are all good for something but you have to program them.

Most of the units above you can hear on my ToneZappa sounclick sound page.

dude, its not necessary that you buy a second hand to get used to one. buy a decent processor and play around with it. There is nothing to LEARN, its all experimentation

I may not be as experienced as "ToneZappa" but thats my opinion.

    @ToneZappa-You have a killer collection of tones.cheers!
