Hi, I am new to music guitar, wanted to know how does chords such as E C G etc help in playing melody in a song, assuming I wanted to play a song in an instrumental fashion, would knowing chords, picking the string would do the job, I seems a little compliacted for me, please help me understand. Also i feel strumming maintains the background score. Am I correct saying that.
Every song has four basic components - Harmnony, Melody, Rythm and lyrics..Chords are nothing but harmony while strumming provides rythem.. search on internet for more details..
