Me again, looking for that perfect first guitar. There's still a while to go for purchase, in which I learnt a bit more about electrics, and that's messed up my choices again.

I'm looking for a 6 string or preferably a 7 string guitar under 25k which has 24 frets, wide variety of tones (jazz to metal), relatively good stock pickups, fixed bridge, performance-good quality, and mahogany/basswood/alder body.

    I checked out...
Schecter Omen 7 Extreme* (only 7 string I could find in this range, but reviews say bad stock pups)
Schecter Damien 6* (they say EMG HZ H4s are bad; still best 6 string option I guess)
Cort EVL Z4 (but, EMG HZ H4s)**
Greg Bennett Avion AV6/Torino TR3 (but reviews say that the Duncan-designed pickups are bad)**
Ibanez RGR321EX (Again, I've read bad stuff about the EMG *designed* pickups, but might be the best choice after Damien.)

Any additions to the list, any corrections in the stuff I wrote above (leading to a more specific choice)?
    Thanks.

*I've also heard of pathetic quality control on the Damien and Omen series. I'm really scared of the neck warping or something else which appears months after buying the guitar!
    **But those are 22 frets.

Nice axe...but outta my budget. Maybe I could haggle it down, but below 25k? Will have to see.
I've seen mixed reviews on it's sound...For anyone who's used it : are the stock pickups good? (can barely afford a guitar, let alone ~10k more on pickups...)

How do you expect to get a good guitar and good pickups within 25k if you're buying in India? You're going to have to compromise on the quality of the pickup so that you can buy a guitar that is built to play well and last.

What I imply is pickups that'll do average, if not great, work - getting the tones I need with a processor and a perhaps lot of tweaking. That RG seems to fit the bill as far as review go, a test run in the shop is all that's needed to confirm.

There's that RG321MH for sale for 12k in Mumbai over on the other thread.

Mahogany body 24 frets fixed bridge. Plus plenty left over for good pickups.

25k won't fetch wonders...if ur bothered about quality...the best thing to do is to try them out urself...plus make sure the guitar suites ur style of music...thats important

^Obviously, I'm gonna try 3-4 out first. And can't I play just about anything (given a particular skill level) on a 7 string? o_O

@hundredth- Heh, thanks, but I don't really trust myself to get a great second-hand deal...RG7321 shall be the way. Hopefully in a month or so! =D

Pretty cool...I mean, 5k lesser? I'm gonna go there if I can't find a lower price elsewhere in Delhi...

Edit : For a sec I thought, hey, I didn't make THAT thread! But thanks, whoever edited, it'll be easier for someone searching :D
