Hey ppl, i m kinda intermediate on guitars. i m lookin to buy a cort x6 guitar + roland cube 20x amp. will d combo be appropriate for some metal stuff?? and 1 more question, is bajaao.com a trusted site? can i buy things from bajaao w/o any fear??(this is the first time me gonna buy something online, so....doubt)
Yeah, it will be gud... But luk fr some other guitars too, newy cort offers best specs in a price range... N better try out amp yrself... Thou roland is almost unanimously praised n i vote fr it too... Still the like fr tones of a amp is quite subjective...
Hey thx, and regarding the website i ve mentioned above, can i really trust them?? cuz they do not accept credit cards for payments. they accept only cheques. so are they trustable???
dude bajaao is quite good.contact them thru their "contact us"tab...they are quite good.check other website like www.onstage.com and www.musiciansmall.in the last one is quite good.you mail them givin you number n they will call you to clarify(dats wat hpnd 2 me yesterday!!!).
if you like flying v's try the cort vx-2v.they are like 19k.you can try them too....they come with passive emg's!!!.
What's with the whole passives won't do for metal idea? Especially through a freaking Zoom/Digitech and SS amp. Passives will do just fine for metal.
well a whole bunch of metal guitarists rely on actives to do their bidding..........so i thought there has to be a reason for that..........
Well a whole bunch of metal guitarists use high gain tube amps/preamps to get their sound, so I think the reasons are not exactly what you think.
@metalmickey - That Musician's Mall site is cool...but as with Bajaao, the NOC, and half the country's rock/metal scene, why are all the good things in Mumbai? Also, try to learn to use the Edit button a bit. xD @thehundredthone, angel - What're the tonal differences between actives and passives anyway? I thought active>passive, till I was told otherwise.
an active pickup uses an active power source like a battery....so they use an electronic circuitry ....whereas passives dun need a power source to function they are in lay man's language wires wound around a magnet......... So actives can sometimes give more better output and their output doesn't vary with length of wires and passives may give a pretty low output..........and also from my own experience, actives give less hum than passives..........
thats a myth... @ultrabot: actives>passives, dats a myth too... Its just a difference in tone, actives are brighter, passives give a more organic feel. Listem to sound samples, u'll get an idea. Chk fr youtube videos too.
