Allright, So i am in Manipal now and have my band settled up. The thing is everyone here is a metalhead. And my vocalist is a little coldplay typos. He is better than the real coldplay guy, i mean it, but still coldplay. So, i just wanted to know what all metal songs should we do to move the audience and make our mark as a new upcoming band. We did Aerials...SOD and it rocked. We dont have a proper base, we cant do lightining fast solos, and we dont have double bass. Suggestions are welcom!! Plz do suggest! N yeah, i can rap and growl too, so .....suggest!!
Fvck metalheads. Play your stuff, and try to be original. Thats what counts, unless you are playing at a paid gig.
Manipal can't really do metal, not as far as I've seen. Maybe one or two bands. Although everyone wants to do RATM now, heh. Like alpha1 says. Don't go chasing behind genres. Make your own music. And don't call it "my band".

Dude, THings have changed. Now manipal rocks like hell. You should have seen Campus Rock Idols and the gigs set up here almost every sat. They do awesome stuff man! N ya, Bangalore bands are better but Manipal gives tough competition to em. n RATM is something that one band specialises in, all they do is RATM. n trust me they do it well!! n coming back to what we should play for OUR BAND!! What to play?!?
ya, tats true, but still a metal band is the one that won the thing as well. Bcoz there were only metal bands!! lolz Well, plz suggest good songs for the kind of equipment we have!
Haha I am in Manipal and I was talking about CRI and the few gigs around it. 2-3 bands did RATM, none were too good IMO, the energy wasn't there. Manipal doesn't rock like hell. As for your band, play what you guys like and play what is within your ability. No need to play metal just because you think that's what the audience wants.
